Memorial mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 508 Angus Road, Gretna, NE on Friday, May 31 at 10:30 am with luncheon to follow. Internment at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, at 1 PM Friday.

Shirlee M. Collier

12/28/1930 – 5/9/2019

Shirlee M. Collier, 88, of Omaha, NE, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2019. Shirlee was born December 28, 1930 in Omaha, NE to Andreas and Anna Jensen. She graduated from South High School in 1948 and later went on to take classes from Iowa Western Community College.

She married Fred E. Collier in February 1952 and with this union they had 4 children; Kathy, Fred, and twins James (Jim) and Jane.

She had a love for gardening and enjoyed working at a truck garden for part of her life and became known as the “farmer” to her children. Her interests included, family, gardening, sewing, collecting pens and pencils, and working crossword puzzles. Later in life, she liked to relax in her home and watch her game shows. Her wittiness and sense of humor shown through in every moment.

Mrs. Collier is preceded in death by spouse Fred E. Collier Sr., sons Fred E. Collier Jr., and James (Jim) P. Collier. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Bergelt, her daughters Kathy Collier and Jane P. Halstead, husband John Halstead, 4 grandchildren- John Halstead II (Nicole), Anthony Halstead (Kelsey), Danny Collier (Jacque), and Staci Ferrera (Jason), 7 great grandchildren- Lilly Halstead, Eli Halstead, Etta Halstead, Danni Collier, Maggie Collier, Rebel Ferrera, and Dixie Ferrera.

Visitation:  Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street. Funeral Services:  9:30 am Saturday, May 18, 2019 also at the Mortuary. Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Martha J. Lemons (Morton)

7/16/1934 – 5/12/2019

Bennington – Born July 16th, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska and entered Heaven’s Gates on May 12th, 2019 at the age of 84.  Preceded in death by parents Lawrence & Winifred Morton, brothers Harvey & Jim Morton and son Roger Lemons.  Martha is survived by her husband of 58 years Jim Lemons, sons Gary, Ken and Bob Lemons, daughter Rebecca (Lemons) Sloop, brother Larry Morton, grandchildren Brittany Lemons, Paige Shahryary, Madison Willard, Candice Brooks and great-grandchildren Ethan Lemons, Kylie Teekel, Elle Brooks, daughters-in-law, Sue Lemons, Nὄle Giulini, Yvette (Barron) Lemons, and son-in-law Michael Sloop.

Age 96 of Omaha, passed away May 11, 2019. She was born June 8, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa to Howard and Marie (Herron) Bailey. Harold Jacob Braun

Age 87 of Omaha passed away May 10, 2019.  He was born August 28, 1931 in St. Charles, Minnesota to Jacob and Mary (Schlek) Braun.  He served his country in the United States Air Force.  Harold enjoyed antiquing, golfing, volunteering and especially story telling.  He was preceded in death by his son; Douglas, Sisters; Evelyn and Fran, brothers; Bob and Tom.  Harold is survived by his wife Jewellene (Judy), daughter; Cindy Gochanour (Rich), son; Michael Braun (Erma), 9-grandchildren, 13-great-grandchildren, 4-great-great-grandchildren, sister; Barbara Schuett (Duane), brother; Jim Braun (Arlene) and many family and friends. Dean Kindler

April 27, 1930 – April 24, 2019

Preceded in death by brothers Dorsey, Jr. and Stewart “Joe” Kindler. Survived by wife Beverly Kindler; son Paul (Emma) Kindler; step-son John Knape (Gay DeWester); grandson Peyton Kindler. Dean Kindler was born in Omaha NE on a day when a tornado wiped out half of his home town of Tekamah. He was a star athlete in high school. He quarterbacked the undefeated football team in 1948 and lettered in football, basketball and track. After graduating, he joined the Navy Reserves and was called up to serve in the Korean war. He was stationed on Mid-way Island. Thanks to the GI bill Dean obtained his bachelors of science and a Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Nebraska. He embarked on a 40 year career doing research for the US Department of Agriculture first at the University of Nebraska, then at Oklahoma State University. His hobbies included gardening, ballroom dancing and raising cattle. Memorial Service 3 PM Tuesday (4/30/2019) at Maple Ridge Retirement Community, 3525 N 167th Cir, Omaha, NE.
