Charles “Jake” Jacobs – Skooter the Clown
Preceded in death by Mother: Lillian (Higgins); Father: William Jacobs; 1st Wife of 28 years: Norma Lee (Usery); 2nd Wife of 16 years: Ruth Stearns (Hayner); Survived by Children: Karen (Rod) Rodgers of Omaha, John (Susan) Jacobs of Southbridge, MA, Kurt Jacobs of Omaha; Granddaughters: Sarah and Hannah Rodgers.
The US Army trained Jake to drive a truck. He brought his truck driving skills back to his hometown, Chicago, IL. He drove a truck overnight while attending Roosevelt University full time. After earning his Bachelor in Science degree in Business, Jake spent more than 25 years in the trucking industry. Around 1986 Jake went to work for the Omaha Home for Boys. At that same time he became involved with the Masonic Order and Shriners. He spent many summers in area parades as Skooter the Clown as well as dedicating his time to the Shrine Circus and Mobile Nobles. Jake was also a member of The American Legion, Post 1, the VFW, Post 2503, and the Elks Lodge 39.

Harry began his career with the Union Pacific Rail Road in 1954 in North Platte, NE and retired in 1992 in Omaha. Memorial service 1 pm Friday (12/28/18) at Roeder Mortuary.

Dolores Owen (Dee) passed away early Christmas Eve morning, three days before her 100th birthday, leaving behind 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a team of dedicated caregivers.
Dee proudly described herself as a “professional volunteer”, giving countless hours to organizations including the Omaha Community Playhouse, Ak-Sar-Ben, Goodwill Industries, Salvation Army, Junior League of Omaha, General Crook House, Pi Beta Phi, Omaha Children’s Museum and so many others.
Dee received several honors during her active years including the Ak-Sar-Ben Court of Honor in 2001, Sustainer of the Year for the Junior League of Omaha and the YWCA People of Vision Award for Professional Volunteer of the Year in 1992. As a fellow volunteer noted, “There was never a job too small or too big for Dee Owen”
Dolores was a caring wife, mother and grandmother, knowing only kindness and love.
