Audrey Elizabeth Kienast, age 88 of Omaha passed away on February 16, 2017. Audrey was born in Carroll, Iowa to Frank and Bertha (Strunk) Massman.  Audrey graduated from Westside High School. She married Elmer Kienast on September 17, 1949 in Manning, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law: Dennis Irwin and brother: Donald. Audrey is survived by her husband: Elmer, children: James D. Hulsebus (Judy), Daniel J. Kienast (Patricia), and Janeen M. Irwin (Bill Segebart); 9-grandchildren; 9-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.

Visitation: Monday, Feb. 20th from 2-3pm with Funeral Service at 3:00p.m. at Roeder Mortuary – Gretna Chapel, 11710 Standing Stone Dr. Interment: Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 185th and Q Street, Omaha, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family.

76, of Omaha – Survived by wife Karen, sons Erin (Patti), Brendan (Debbie Hupp), grandchildren Kelly & Shannon, sister Carolyn Byrne, half-sisters Barbara Spoden and Pamela Dykeman, and family & friends. Gary was a red-blooded, hard-working Vietnam veteran with a mirrored pride in his Irish heritage who was preceded in death by his loyal canine companion, Angus.

Celebration of Life is being held at Tiger Tom’s Pub, 7103 Military Avenue, Omaha, NE on February 19th, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorials suggested to Nebraska Humane Society of Omaha and Creighton Preparatory High School. Private graveside services being held at a later date.

Rena L. Mammel

11/18/1942 – 1/30/2017

Rena Lynn Mammel was born November 18, 1942 in Omaha, NE to Robert W. and Doris M. Randall.   She attended Benson High School where she graduated in 1960.  She attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

On July 6, 1963, she married her love, William Charles Mammel at Bethany Lutheran Church in Omaha.  In 1964, they had their first child, William C., Jr. in California.  In 1965, they returned to Omaha and lived in Ralston where they built their first house together.  While Bill worked at Modern Electric with his father-in-law, Bob Randall, Sr., Lynn worked at Kilpatrick’s Department Store. In 1976 they had their second child, Shari Michelle.  In 1977, they purchased a farm between Omaha and Blair so Lynn could have her horses near her.  From that began the largest Christmas tree farm in Nebraska, Santa’s Woods.  Of course, Lynn also had her reindeer, Clydesdales and cattle along with numerous cats and dogs at the farm.  Together, Lynn and Bill travelled all around North America seeing wondrous natural sights, lots of wildlife and many a train all from the comfort of their motor home.  Lynn was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and travelled with Shari’s Girl Scout Troup to a lot of campouts and even to Mexico over the years.  For over 30 years, Bill and Lynn attended Atonement Lutheran Church where their daughter, Shari, married her husband, Jason and their granddaughters, Elise Morgan and Paislee Marie, were baptized.

Lynn was an avid book reader who could read for hours while her cats kept her legs warm.  She also loved going to a plethora of Bible studies with her friends.  She really enjoyed her Blair Extension Club meetings with her friends as well.  She devoted her life to serve the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her brother Robert Jr., her children Bill Jr., Shari and her husband, Jason and granddaughters Elise and Paislee as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation Monday 6-8 PM, Funeral Service Tuesday 10:00 AM at Roeder Mortuary. Interment Allen Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to Kennard Volunteer Fire Dept or Mammel Family Foundation.

11/21/1933 – 1/25/2017

Of Gretna, Wayne – husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather – joined his parents, Ernest and Mae (Stokes) Childers, son David, and grandson Jeremiah to be with his Creator. Wayne was a corporal in the Marine Corps and served his country during the Korean War. He had a long-standing career during which he rose to managerial and executive positions at William T. Joyce Lumber/Hines Lumber and Werner Enterprises, then “retired” to building homes (Windstar). Throughout his life, he was a farmer at heart. Wayne is survived by his wife Jeri, children Kurt (Sharon), Karen Klausner, Val (Jeff) Lennard, Paul (Patt), Nancy (Dean) Dobmeier  and John (Pam); ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, and three sisters. The family requests donations to a charity of your choice in Wayne’s honor.  

Visitation Monday 5-6:30 PM with Vigil Service 6:30 PM at church. Funeral Service Tuesday (1/31/17) 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church 508 Angus St. Interment at a later date.
