7/18/1954 – 1/24/2017

Omaha – Beloved husband of Tricia; Father to Heidi, Abilene, Tyler, and Samuel; super Grandpa to Zachary. Michael is the son of Beverly A Croushorn of Omaha and William S Croushorn of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Michael loved life and fulfilled his dreams as the owner and President of Liberty Property Management Company. As such, he was a Certified Property Manager (CPM), member and former president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and notary. He was loved by all who worked with and knew him.

Visitation Thursday 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service Friday (1/27/17) 3:30 PM at Roeder Mortuary 11710 Standing Stone Gretna, NE. Private Interment. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials to the family to be determined later.

Robert W. Kardell

Of Gretna, Robert William Kardell was born to Otto and Laura (Boeck) Kardell on September 1, 1927 in Shelby, Iowa. He grew up on multiple farmsteads helping his family farm. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1943 and graduated in 1945 from Avoca High School. After high school he worked as a hired hand. In 1953 he applied for a job at Bankers Life and Casualty where he worked for 60 years. In August of 1953, on a blind date, he met Darlene L Munderloh. They were married June 27, 1954. They settled in Phoenix, Arizona shortly after being married. While in Phoenix, Michael, Vicki, and Mark were born. In 1960 they relocated to Tucson, AZ. and Mathew was born. In 1967 Bob and family were relocated back to Omaha and Scott was born. In 1977 Bob and Darlene bought 40 acres of 156th and Fort and made an old farm house their home.  They treasured their time living out in the country again. Many memories were made in that home. In 1997 they relocated to Gretna where they were residing at the time of his passing. Bob took pride in his German heritage, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed Husker football on Saturdays, and never met a person he couldn’t talk to. He was very involved in his 12 grandchildren’s lives and was often heard bouncing one of his six great grandchildren on his knee singing his famous “deedle dee.” Bob passed within an hour of the birth of his 6th great grandchild, a grandson to carry on the Kardell name. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, his brothers Clarence and Jim, sister Betty Aldrich, and son Michael. He is survived by wife Darlene, daughter Vicki (Loren) Lamprecht, sons Mark (Jean), Mathew (Lori), and Scott (Angie) Kardell. A sister, Luetta Petersen, and brother David (Joyce) Kardell.  12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with another one due in April.

Leo L. Zona

9/24/1926 – 1/15/2017

Leo L Zona passed away peacefully on January 15th, at Elkridge Assisted Living in Elkhorn Ne at the age of 90. Leo is survived by His 2 sons Timothy (Karen) of Gretna and Rodney of Louisburg Ks, 2 grandsons Jason of Gretna and Dustin (Jennifer) and great grandsons Rhys and Chase of Omaha. Leo is preceded in death by his wife Helen Ann, Granddaughter Susann, parents Sophia and George, 1 brother Stanley and 2 sisters Helen and Hedwig.

Leo was born on a farm in St Edward Ne and soon after the family purchased a farm in Fullerton Ne. He joined the Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He married Helen Ann Podraza in Sept of 1951. When his service was complete in 1953 he returned to Fullerton and together they farmed. He raised livestock and grain crops. He retired from the farm in July of 2009 at the age of 82 to start a new life closer to his family.

Leo was an animal lover, he had horses, dogs, and cats over the years including a mud duck that was raised from a few days old after found wandering alone.

Robert F. Wollenburg (Bob)

5/20/1937 – 1/17/2017

Bob was born at home on May 20, 1937 to Otto E. and Katherine C. (Bergmeier) Wollenburg in DeWitt, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt. He attended country school until moving into town and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force after his graduation until his Honorable Discharge in 1957. He attended and played football at Doan College in Crete, NE. He met Judith L. Skalnik while working on a harvest crew. They were united in marriage on April 23, 1960 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth, NE from this union they had three children. In 1959 he started working for Western Electric in Omaha and he worked there until his retirement in 1996. They lived in Omaha until moving to Gretna in November of 1967. Bob’s many joys were his faith, family, hunting, fishing, playing cards, golf, traveling and the HUSKERS. His biggest joys were spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren’s events and ballgames as well as attending the ballgames of his nieces and nephews. Bob was an active member of the Gretna Volunteer Fire and Rescue, serving his community for 40 years. He taught Hunter Safety for 30 years. He was also in many other community events and activities. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and served in various offices. He was also a member of the Gretna American Legion Post #216. He enjoyed helping Santa for the Fire Department for 20 years. He enjoyed all the children but his greatest joy was going to the hospitals and nursing homes for Santa.

Bob passed away peacefully January 17, 2017, surrounded by his family at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond (Katie), John (Phyllis), Ernest, sisters Gertrude (Mike), Louise (John), Ruth (Eugene), sister-in-law Lorraine, and brother-in-laws Jack and Stan, and his father and mother-in-law Milo and Anita Skalnik. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy of Gretna, daughter Joni (Dean) Stein of Fostoria, IA, sons Jeff (Tracy) of Gretna and Jon (Cindy) of Omaha, brothers Otto (Annie), Alfred, and Donald (Shirley), sisters Lucille, Vernes, and Kathryn (Gary), sister-in-law Jane (Rick) Carlson and brother-in-law Jerry Skalnik. Seven grandchildren Julie (Jon), Jordyn, Johnna, Tyler, Andrew and Jessica (Tracy) and Tanya (Bryant) and five great-grandchildren Nova and Aura and Kiersten, Elizabeth and Brantley.

Melanie J. Frazier

8/1/1957 – 1/6/2017

Melanie J. Frazier age 59, Omaha, passed away on January 6, 2017.  Melanie was born, August 1, 1957 in Omaha to James Robert (Bob) and Edith (Mushrush) Frazier.

Melanie attended Millard High School graduating in 1975. She pursued her passion and became an Electroencephalogram (EEG) professional and was currently working at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, NE, at the time of her passing.  Melanie deeply loved her family, friends and kitties. She enjoyed the summers at the Frazier’s “cottage” on Jones Beach in Okoboji, being an avid boater and skier and loved Parrot Head music.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Edith Frazier, and brother Dr. Mark Frazier.  She is survived by brothers Todd and Paul (Roxie), her Aunt Katherine Christensen, nieces, nephews and several loving friends.
