Paul L. Kresha

8/22/1924 – 12/20/2016

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Pauline (Liss) Kresha. Paul had two brothers, Glenn and Allan (deceased) and one sister Phyllis.

Paul was born on a farm and lived with his family in Osceola, NE. He graduated from senior high school in Osceola. He served on active duty in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan. Following his military engagement, he returned to Nebraska and met Theresa Moritz. They married in 1950. Paul worked for many years at Sears, Roebuck and Company in Columbus, NE. He farmed for a short time in Osceola. Paul returned to Columbus where he was employed at Robert’s Dairy as an over-the-road semi-truck driver for 26 years. The dairy business took him from Columbus, NE to Lincoln, NE to Omaha, NE. Following his retirement in 1990, he and his wife Theresa moved to Gold Canyon, AZ where they enjoyed many years of happy retirement. They returned to Omaha every summer and lived with son David in Elkhorn, NE. In 2012, they returned to the Omaha area full-time and lived in an apartment most recently.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Theresa. They had six children – David Kresha, Donald (Diane) Kresha, Ronald Kresha (deceased), Sharon (Mike) Johnson, Karen (Roger) Thompson and Suzann Kresha (deceased); four grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Molly (Kresha) Diamond, Cody Thompson and Madison Thompson, and one great- grandson Gabriel Diamond.

Claude W. White

7/19/1953 – 12/17/2016

Claude W. White was born on July 19, 1953 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. God called Claude home to rest on December 17, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Richard White and Leona (Malone) White; brothers Prentice Leavell and Rev. Richard White, Jr.; and his only child Yolanda Thompson. Survivors include his special friend, Nancy White; two grandchildren Trevon and Tynea Thompson; sisters Goldie Hopkins, Betsy Ward, and Annie Leavell; one aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Claude graduated from Hopkinsville High School in 1972. He spent 9 years in the Air Force and excelled as a Morse code operator. He loved playing basketball and football in high school and the Air Force and played on a Turkish professional basketball team. Later he became a sports official and scheduled officials for various sports in the Omaha area. He started the African American Sports Official Assn. (AAMSOA). He was the State Black Director for USSSA and was selected to work 2 mens major world championships. He worked for the city of Omaha in Parks and Recreation as a clerk at Millard Library from which he retired in September-2016.

Claude had a curious mind and many interests. He was the Curriculum Director for J’s Brain Trust which taught young adults financial literacy. His last endeavor was a streaming radio show, The Mark on 1690 AM. He loved people, kids and especially his family. His niece, Chadvina, said that Claude’s life and presence will be missed but he made sure that he will never be forgotten.

Gary Wilder

9/17/1939 – 12/3/2016
Omaha age 77- Gary Wilder, passed away on December 3, 2016. Gary was born in Luverne, Minnesota. He served in the military as a medic for the Fleet Marines from 1957-1961. He had a carpet laying business with his step dad for many years, but it was Gary’s love of quality cars that provided a 30 year career in the car business in Omaha, he retired in 2005.
Gary was preceded in death by his daughter Renae, parents Mary and Chuck Davis.
He is survived by his sister Trish (Bob) Swanhorst, nephews Rob and Randy Swanhorst, and Sweetheart Kerrie Jo Bray and family.

Steven M. Cockerill

11/1/1961 – 11/20/2016

Steven Michael Cockerill born in Omaha, NE Nov. 1, 1961 and passed away Nov. 20, 2016. Steve attended Platteview High School and after graduation Steve stayed home to help with the family feed lot, trucking company and farming. Steve loved the farm and started selling used farm equipment which started Cockerill Equipment.

Steve lived his entire life in Springfield but has always wanted to move to western Nebraska or Wyoming. His love for Wyoming Cowboy football was great.

Steve married Barbara Eliker (Maxwell) June 23, 2006, he became a stepfather and grandfather on that day and stepped up to be the best.

Steve has strong ties with many people all over the state. He has many friends and family.
