Donald Jay Kennel, 51, of Gretna passed away on February 18, 2016 peacefully in his sleep

Donald was born to V.W.(Shorty) and JoAnn(Scheef) Kennel on August 15,1964 in Omaha, Nebraska. Donald graduated from Gretna High School with the class of 1982.
Don worked his entire adult life as a mechanic in the Gretna area. Don’s hobbies included going to all kinds of races, hunting, golfing, spoonbill fishing at Lake of the Ozarks, jet skiing, dancing, and of course, the Nebraska Cornhusker football games. He even went to several Nebraska Bowl games over the years. He was also an avid collector of Snap-On clocks and tools.
He is survived by brother Bill(Avis) Kennel of Goodridge, MN; sister Lois(Jim) Johnson, Goodridge, MN, brother Dan Kennel, Ozark, MO; and brother Ed Kennel, Omaha, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by parents V.W. and JoAnn Kennel, sister Carol Kennel, and grandparents.

Joshua Allen Willis Monasmith, 26. Josh born in Omaha Nebraska.

He was entered into rest February 12 2016 in St. Louis Missouri.

He attended Northwest high school & received his GED 

Josh worked as an Auction Analyst for Heartland Media Group. He enjoyed attending concerts, video recording music performances, traveling & spending time with his son & family. 

Joshua is survived by Mother Vicki Monasmith, Father Michael Hughes, Grandfather Gene Hughes, Sisters Staci Monasmith & children, & Tiffani Monasmith & child. Son Daymon Johnsen. Many Uncles, Aunts, & Cousins.

Josh is preceded in death by his Grandparents Lois & Willis Bivens, Beverly Hughes, Fred & Roxanne Thole, Lawrence Bolden Jr. & Lawrence Bolden III,

Gloria Diane (Dreessen) Baran was born on August 7, 1941 to Arthur and Henrietta (Blum) Dreessen. She was raised on a farm in the heart of Millard and graduated from Millard High School in 1959. She attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and received a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology from the University Nebraska Medical Center. Gloria married LaVern (Vern) Baran in 1971 and had 3 daughters Angela, Susan, and Lori. She was head of the hematology lab at University until 1973. She had a brilliant and creative mind and returned to her profession after raising her family, working at Bergan Mercy Hospital until she retired in 2003. Gloria had a love of music, flowers, birds, painting, sewing, reading and was an avid sports fan. Strong in her faith, she was active in choir and a Eucharistic minister at St. Patrick’s church in Gretna. She shared her kindness, positive attitude and great sense of humor with many neighbors and friends. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandkids. She was a mother figure to many beyond her family and will truly be missed. Preceded in death by parents Arthur & Henrietta Dreessen. Survived by husband Vern, daughters Angela Baran, Susan Bernier (Douglas), Lori Baran, grandchildren Benjamin, Alexander, Lillian Bernier, brother Robert Dreessen (Linda), nieces, nephews and many family & friends.
