1/10/1948 – 2/18/2019

Diane M Johnson was born January 10, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Lovie Lee Johnson and Jessie Mae Phillips. Diane attended and graduated from Tech High School. She was a firm believer in Christ and was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church. She worked for the Omaha Public School District for 34 years before she retired.

Diane also known as “DiDi” to many loved listening to music and cooking/baking in her spare time. She loved baking cakes, her cakes were the best on earth.

Diane Johnson departed this life on February 18, 2019. She was preceded in death by her wife, Annette Love; mother, Jessie Cobbs; father, Lovie Johnson; grandparents, Leonard and Ellie Phillips; uncle, Leonard Phillips Jr; two aunts, Jurdean Jackson and Faye Eichelberger; sister, Betty Johnson; special niece, Cynthia Johnson; and grandnephew, Joshua Evans.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sherry Johnson; a brother, James Johnson; four special nephews, Kenny, Tracy, Patrick, and Brandon; two grandchildren, Kevin and Cherish Thomas; one great grandchild, Kaelyn Thomas; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday February 27, 2019 with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM all at Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave..

Omaha – Sandy passed away after a 6 + year battle with breast cancer. Preceded in death by husband, Dan, infant daughter, Colleen. Survived by daughters, Cris, Cherie and Cara Connors, step children, Danny (Lyda), Jeff (Maureen), Kim (Maciej) Novak, 9 grandchildren, siblings, Dale (Linda) Thiele, Rita Armor, many family & friends.

Visitation Thursday 5-6:30 PM with Vigil Service at 6:30 PM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th St. Omaha, NE. Memorial Mass Friday (2/22/19) 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church 9025 Larimore Ave. Omaha, NE. Sandy donated her body to science. Private interment at Omaha National Cemetery at a later date. Barbara J. Booth

March 19, 1933 – February 13, 2019

Barbara Booth, 85 years of age, passed on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Esprit Whispering Ridge Assisted Living Center.

Barbara was born Marcella Barbara Jean Barnett, March 19, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Nelson Robert and Erma Jean Barnett. She was the oldest of three children; two preceded her in death; Brothers; Melvin Harold Barnett and Robert Nelson Barnett. Her family later moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she met George Earl Booth. George and Barbara were married on March 25th 1954.

Barbara was able to touch the hearts of many during her life. She worked as the manager of the record department at Brandeis Department store for many years. She also took pride in being a member of Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. Always enjoying helping others, she served as a deaconess and worked alongside her husband, Elder Booth, for many years until her health prevented her services. Barbara loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, baking, spending time with family, traveling, and listening to Gospel music. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, who always thought of others first.

Terry G. Forsberg

Terry G. Forsberg was born November 3, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ruth V. Long and Floyd G. Forsberg.   He passed on February 15, 2019 peacefully surround by his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth V. and Floyd G. Forsberg, and two grandchildren, Regan A. and Chase B. Forsberg. Survived by his wife Linda P., his sons and their spouses David G. (Donna) and Grant A. (Shawna) and three grandchildren Seth R., London C., and Devon B.  Forsberg.

Raised in North Omaha, he attended Miller Park grade school and Omaha North High School where he graduated in 1958.  He enrolled at Omaha University in 1958 and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with distinction majoring in speech in 1962. He married his high school sweetheart Linda P. Johns in 1960.  They had two sons, David G. and Grant A.

                He began his career as a manager of Miller Park Swimming Pool.  After a brief stint at KFAB radio with the call name Don Steele, he began his employment with KMTV in production and rose through the ranks to lead reporter and anchor.  In 1977, he was hired by Mayor Al Veys who quickly appointed him as the manager of the Omaha Civic Auditorium, Orpheum Theatre, and Rosenblatt Stadium.   In 1992, he began a career as business manager for Chip Davis and Mannheim Steamroller where he continued until his retirement in 2008.  Thereafter, he continued to stay involved in the entertainment industry.  As part of GranStan Services, he coordinated and assisted in various elements of numerous events in Omaha and the State of Nebraska ranging from production elements with the Nebraska State Fair to corporate annual meetings and charitable events.

                Throughout his career his love of athletics was clear.  Beginning at Omaha North High School, where he was a public address announcer at sporting events.  Shortly after he enrolled at Omaha University, he began his 50 year stint as Omaha University/University of Nebraska at Omaha PA announcer for football, basketball and various other sporting events.  In addition, he was the PA announcer for the Omaha Royals for 25 years.

                He was involved in numerous organizations and boards including downtown Omaha Press Club(past president), Vikings of Distinction (Hall of Fame), University of Nebraska-Omaha Maverick Board, Hall of Fame Selection Board University of Nebraska-Omaha Board (past chairman), Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame Board (past chairman), College World Series Board, Rotary, Keystone Little League Baseball(past president), National Press Photographers Association, Nebraska Press Photographers Association, International Association Auditorium Managers, National Association Exposition Managers, University of Nebraska-Omaha Alumni Association.

                Terry passed peacefully February 15, 2019 surrounded by his family.

May 22, 1949 – February 9, 2019

Jeffrey Clyde Maddocks Age 69 of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on February 9, 2019 at home.  Jeffrey was born on May 22, 1949 in Hebron, Nebraska to Clyde and Alberta (Clark) Maddocks.   He served 21 years in the US Navy.  Jeffrey enjoyed being a baseball umpire from Little League to High School and even some college games.  He liked Jazz music, gardening and watching his favorite sport teams the Celtics, Bears and Yankees.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Alberta and Mother and Father-in-Law: Margaret and George Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife; Delores “Dee”, children; Randy and wife Lycia, Jennifer and Jeffrey Maddocks, grandchildren; Isaiah, Inaya, Hilary and Elizabeth, sister; Vanesa Maddocks, step-children; Albertine King, Jovan Moore, Tiffany Moore and Carlos Daniels, Jr., 19-step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

9/19/1947 – 2/1/2019
Gretna – Cassy was born in Clifton TX, grew up in and attended school in Papua, New Guinea and Australia. She retired after 17 years of service from the United States Air Force in 1985. She went on to work as a civilian at Global weather on the USAF Base then went to work in Lincoln for Homeland Security retiring in 2012. She was working part time at Community Pharmacy. Cassy lived her life in service to God, loved her family, and everyone she came in contact with always wanting to help others anyway she could. She is preceded in death by husband Henry, parents Herman & Dorothy Mansur, brother Bruce Mansur. Survived by daughters Jennifer and Jacqueline, grandchildren Ethan, Kayle (Ryan), Brian, Lily, Jaden, Eli, Paige, Vivian, great grandchildren Aiden, Branson, Oliver, siblings Chris (Jackie) Mansur, Barbara Mansur, Connie Hassan, Cynthia (Gary) Schoonover, Barbara (Bronte) Zadow, Craig (Kari) Mansur, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
