Mahoney, Michael “Mike”

Omaha, born in Cherokee, IA, retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cynthia (Haack), born in Storm Lake, IA. Preceded in death by parents Harold and Phyllis Mahoney and niece Dawn Warriner. He is survived by one sister, Toni (Lee) Warriner; sister-in-law, Jaynee (Daniel) Young; daughter Lori (Steve) Battaglia; and son David (Amy) Mahoney; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Eric, Gage, Ava, Gavin, Tylor, Michael; two great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Audrie; as well as cherished nieces, nephews, family and friends.

VISITATION 6-8pm Friday, June 26, 2015 with FUNERAL SERVICE 9am Saturday, June 27, 2015 all at Roeder Mortuary. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 7909 Mormon Bridge Rd, Omaha, NE.

Cary L. Manson

Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Toddy Ann Hodgson Manson; daughters Tammy DuBay and Jennifer White and her husband Justin White; Grandchildren, Cameron DuBay, Audrey DuBay, Abigail White and Porter White. Brother, John Manson Jr., his wife Babe, and sister, Jonah Deppe and many nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by parents by John Manson Sr., and Celia Totten Manson Barnes; sisters, Marjorie Knapp, Linda Hauswald; Brother, Robert Barnes.

Cary Manson was surrounded by his devoted family when he passed away at Methodist Hospital at the age of 77. He was born in Nebraska City, attended Tech High School in Omaha, NE. He worked for United Airlines as a Lead Ramp Serviceman and Grounds Safely Coordinator for 40 years where he was honored with the United Airlines Community Service Humanitarian Award in 1995. Cary was passionately involved in Tangier Shrine, an organization dedicated to helping children and served as Potentate in 2010. A Master Mason for decades, he severed as Master of Florence Lodge No. 281, and was a member of Nebraska Lodge No. 1, Scottish Rite, Mt Calvary Commandery No. 1 Knights Templar, and numerous other Masonic related organizations. Cary was also very active at Covenant Presbyterian Church and his faith was an ever-present source of strength in his life and in death. Cary was a compassionate, loving husband, father, and grandfather with a welcoming smile and would be the first to volunteer to help a friend or family member in need.
All who knew him will forever remember his warmth and kind-hearted spirit.

 

Visitation 5PM-7PM and 7PM Masonic Service Thursday (6/25/15) at Roeder Mortuary.

Funeral 11AM Friday (6/26/15) at Covenant Presbyterian Church – 15002 Blondo St.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tangier Shrine Transportation Fund or Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Donald J. Chase

January 27, 1933-June 19, 2015

Donald James Chase, Lt. Col. U.S.A.F. Ret, age 82, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 in Omaha.  He was born on January 27, 1933, in Nebraska City, NE.  Donald graduated from Omaha University in 1954. He also earned an MBA at Memphis University. Donald served 20 years in the Air Force as a pilot of C-130, B-47 and B-52 planes and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He flew over 150 bombing missions, including Linebacker II, and was awarded many honors, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd L. and Alice C. (Brandt) Chase.  He is survived by his sister and brother-in-Law, Lois (Chase) and David Carlsen; nieces, Janet (Chuck) Campbell and Barbara Carlsen; nephew, Douglas Chase (Naoko) Carlsen; great niece, Nicole Campbell; great nephew, Charlie Campbell; cousins, friends and caregivers at Heritage Pointe Memory Care.

VISITATION Tuesday, June 23 at 12:30 PM with a SERVICE following at 1:30 PM at Roeder Mortuary 108th Street Chapel. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Air & Space Museum (Ashland, NE) and The Wounded Warrior Project.

Passed away with his family at his side.  Preceded in death by parents, Carl W. and Shirley I. Winther.  Survived by siblings Sue (Myron) Walker, Renee Gasson, Rick (Chris) Winther, nephew Richard Winther; nieces Nikki Dunkley, Stacey (Jason) Bryant, Hannah Winther, great niece Michaela Dunkley and great nephew, Connor Bryant; cousin Jetta Skinner.
Graduated from Rummel High School and the University of Nebraska Lincoln with his Masters in Physics.  His accomplishments include teaching (professor) at UNL, working with Ames Lab and long-time employee “Web Master” at Krell Institute in Ames, Iowa.
