Of Omaha, survived by preceded in death by parents Carey and Fannie Mae, and son Vernal Lee Glenn.  Survived by children: Deborah A. Jackson, David M. Jackson (Lisa) of Monroe LA,  Tammie D. Aigberomwan (LeRoy), Kenneth E Taylor (Sabrina), Charles E Taylor (Stella).  Sisters Doris A Fulton (Bucky), Barbara J. Hill (Ben), Bobbie J Fulton (Clemon). A host of  grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special cousins Obel and Gaynelle Kilgore.  She loved everyone. She truly enjoyed a good card game and sitting on the porch sharing the latest  news with her long time neighbor friends.

James Dave Weatherby

James David Weatherby, known as Dave, son of Glen and Frances Weatherby was born October 27, 1926, in Neodesha, KS, and died April 27, 2015, at the age of 88, in Omaha, NE.  Dave graduated from Neodesha High School in 1944, and earned his Education degree from Kansas State University in 1948.  He also played basketball and was on K-State’s 1948 NCAA Tournament team which made it to the Final Four in Madison Square Garden in New York City.  Dave went on to coach basketball at Butler Junior College in El Dorado, KS where he led his team to the National Championship in 1953.

On June 24, 1951, he married Lenore McCracken in Valley Falls, KS.  They had two daughters, Mary Frances Suhr (Joel), Omaha, NE, and Julie Ann Higgins (Warren), Fremont, NE, and three grandchildren, Brad Higgins, Omaha, Michelle Higgins (Reece Kresser, fiance), New York City, and Jennifer Bingham (Aaron), Omaha.

Upon starting a family Dave changed careers and became an insurance adjuster.  He and his family lived in Jefferson City, MO- Kansas City, KS- Mount Prospect, IL and Indianola, IA, where they lived for 41 years.  Six years ago he and his wife moved to Omaha to be close to their daughters and their families.

Dave served in the U.S. Army from 1944 – 1945.  His hobbies and interests included: tennis, swimming, diving, billiards, and watching all athletic events.  He was an active member of the Indianola First United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Indianola National Hot Air Balloon Museum and was an active member at the Indianola Senior Center.  He and his wife developed a love for traveling and were involved in Friendship Force during which they traveled worldwide and met friends from other cultures. Dave’s family was the most important aspect of his life and his favorite thing to do was to spend time with them.

Preceding him in death were his parents and older brother, Glenn.

Burial followed a graveside service on April 30, 2015 in Valley Falls KS. A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at the Indianola First United Methodist Church at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Indianola First United Methodist Church, Indianola National Hot Air Balloon Museum and Kansas State University.

Freda C. Casey

Preceded in death by husband, Harold Casey; parents, Fred and Margaret Heib; infant son, 4 sisters, 3 brothers. Survived by children, Doug (Sally) Casey, Joyce (Gary) Sallquist, John Casey; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; brother, Dan Heib; numerous nieces, nephews, and host of friends.

Betty Andrews

9/12/1922 – 4/22/2015

Betty passed away peacefully April 22 in Tustin, California. She was born and raised in Cameron, Missouri. Betty graduated from Northwest Missouri State 1943 and was married to George Andrews in 1944. They moved to Omaha in 1951 to begin their long term teaching careers the Omaha Public School System. Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by husband, George Andrews and parents, Richard and Nelle Gay.  Survived by son, George (Heidi) Andrews II of Santa Ana, CA and grandchildren, Jordan (Brooke) Andrews of Hermosa Beach, CA, Kaitlin Andrews and Ryan Andrews of Santa Ana, CA and numerous other relatives and friends.

6/22/1951 – 4/26/2015

Eddie took his last breath peacefully on April 26, 2015.  Eddie was born in Omaha on June 22, 1951 as Samuel Eagle Feather to Charity Marie Eagle Feather and Samuel Harris.  At the age of 3 years old he was adopted by Ernest and Evelyn Benson.  Eddie also had a very special woman, Naomi Coran who helped in raising him.  Naomi had 5 children and 4 grandchildren.  He also leaves behind to cherish his memory wife, Melody Benson; sister, Sheila Harris of CA; sons, Edwin, Eric (Lana) and Tyrell Benson, Che Holloway all of Omaha and Edward (LaShonja) Germany of Texarkana, TX; daughters, Nicole “Nette” (Orvell) Lawrence of Crowley, TX, LaChana Holloway of Omaha and Deundra Germany of Texarkana, TX; stepchildren, Cecil and Sharyce Smith of Omaha; 39 grandchildren and great grandchildren and a church family and friends.  Eddie united and made his promise to our LORD on March 11, 2011, in which he was baptized with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with which he loved with all his heart.  He will be greatly missed by many.

VISITATION Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5-7pm and FUNERAL SERVICE Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00am with all services at Roeder Mortuary Ames Chapel. Luncheon will follow at 3415 Patrick Ave.
