6/3/1934 – 6/24/2018

Bobby Gene Gosier Sr., was born June 3, 1934 in Brooks County, GA to the late Charles Augustus Sr., and Alice (Hollis) Gosier.  He was the youngest of 10 siblings.  After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1954 and married his wife Bernice of 61 years in 1956.  He retired from the USAF in 1974 after serving his country for “20 years, 6 months, and 3 days”, as he would say.

After retirement, Bobby earned certificates and degrees from Universal Technical Institute and Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration and worked as an instructor and lab technician at MCC in the AHR program.  Bobby and his wife Bernice also started a heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning business.  They delighted in serving clients as a husband/wife team under their theme “Service with a Smile”.

Bobby was a pillar for his family, his church, community, amongst all of his friends, and all who knew him.  He was joyful, fun-loving, loyal, and faithful.  He was known as a man of great wisdom and integrity.  He was a true Man of God with a gentle heart and warrior spirit, who loved God and loved all people.  He always had a kind word and a friendly smile for everyone he came in contact with.  A great man who leaves an eternal legacy of faithfulness and love with all who knew him and whom his life touched.

Bobby served as a deacon and later elder of his church, Inspirational Interdenominational Church, now Inspirational House of Prayer, Omaha Nebraska, for over 30 years.

Bobby left us on June 24, 2018 at the age of 84 years to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Bernice, whom he adored and loved more than life, and by 5 of his 6 children and 3 sons in law: Maxine (and Robert) Genwright , Laverne (and Richard) McCowin, Annette (and Fred) Perry Jr., Phyllis, Shirley (and fiance’ Joe).   He will be forever remembered, respected, and held close in the hearts of his grandchildren:  Chris, Matt, Nick, Kimmy, Michael, Jennifer, Bright Star (Gabrielle), and Anthony;  9 great grandchildren: Serenity, Dimitri, Lyla, Akira, Nick Jr., Xavier, Luke, Lion, and Luna; a loving church family, a host of nieces and nephews, many sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters in Christ,  whom he also loved and cherished dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Bobby Gene Gosier Jr., and all of his 10 siblings.

Devin “Dev” Michael Thompson Age 15 of Omaha, NE passed away on June 26, 2018.

Devin attended JP Lord Elementary.

He had a great sense of humor, fun loving, a flirt and a beautiful smile.

Devin is preceded in death by his brother; Gavin and birth mother; Lisa Wiese.

He is survived by his parents; Robert and Jennifer, sisters; Miranda and Kylie, brother; Caleb,

grandparents; Mike and Pat Teal, Bill and Cathy Allen, Greg and Shari Wiese and Mary Burcham,

great-grandmother’s; Eillen Teal and Catherine Woytassek, aunts; Jackie Steiner (Frank) and Jodi Teal,

uncles;William and Christopher Allen, cousins, family and friends.

He was born on August 26, 1951 in Carroll, Iowa to Emmett and Esther (Jahn) Champion.

Emmett graduated from Ryan High School class of 69. He was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed cooking and baking.

Emmett was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Bob, Ed, Dick and Marty.

He is survived by his brother; Thomas and wife Melva Champion, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Friday, Omaha Bible Church, 7940 State Street, Omaha, NE.

Born to Glenn E. and Avanell M. Cummings. Kathleen graduated from Omaha North High School and soon enlisted in the US Airforce. She proudly served for three years and finished her military career in Colorado Springs, CO. She soon married the love of her life, Jerry Cruz and relocated to East Carbon, UT where they started their family of four children. After the coal mines shut down they moved to Ignacio, CO where she was active in the American Legion Post 36 for many years. She later divorced and moved back to Omaha to be closer to family. In Omaha she met her companion Larry Cornelius and had a variety of jobs. During the last five years of her life she was a dedicated and faithful employee at her brother and sister-in-law’s convenience store.

Kathleen passed peacefully at her home. She is proceeded in death by her parents Glenn E. and Avanell M. Cummings and Granddaughter Latisha Cruz. She is survived by her children; Brandon Cruz (Karla), Sandra Maez (Mark), Ashley Zacamolpa-Flores (Danny) and Amanda Cruz. She also has 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings; Glenn Cummings (Becky), Dale Cummings (Pam), Linda Pearson (Mark), Sandy Wolf (Scott).

Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23^rd 11:00 AM, Roeder Mortuary at 2727 N. 108^th Street Omaha, Nebraska. Luncheon to follow services at New Life Presbyterian Church 4060 Pratt Street Omaha, Nebraska.

Jeremiah Deone Plater was affectionately known to his family as “Chucky” born June 28^th, 1995 in Omaha, NE and was the 5^th of seven children. He departed this life and went on to eternal glory on June 8^th, 2018. Chucky attended OPS Schools Howard, Lewis & Clark and Benson High School. He was a funny, sweet, loving & kind-hearted person who always greeted you with a hug & before he left he’d give you a kiss. Jeremiah was extremely close to his family and was all about life. He loved spending time with his kids, siblings and family especially at family events.

Family to Jeremiah was extremely important to him as it was his center, strength and foundation of who he was as a young man. As a mother I couldn’t ask for a better son than “Chucky”. Jeremiah was an awesome father who spent the majority of his time with his six children. The bond that he shared with his children was unbreakable, loving, attentive and caring, which are the same qualities that his children now have with each other. He loved the colors blue, yellow & black and his favorite team The Golden State Warriors.

He leaves to cherish his memories: parents Demetria Plater-Henderson (Mother) Maurice Henderson (Stepfather), Shane Holbert (Father) and Special Pops Mario. Grandparents: Mary Plater & Lonnie Woodruff, Joseph & Brenda Phelps, Winnie Booth & Granny Cookie. Seven children; three daughters: Calie & Kahlea & soon to be Jeremyiah. Four sons: Cameron, Keylynn, Jay’Ceon & Jameer. Sisters: Elizabeth Plater, Shanice Plater (Quan Wilkerson), Shae-Lyn Plater, Kanesha Plater, Kiara Jordan, Shaynell Swindle, Desiree Holbert-Worlds & Nariah Holbert-Worlds. Brothers: Leonard Plater, Maurqueze Henderson, Khyre Holbert, Darius Holbert, Shane Holbert Jr., Syrius Holbert-Worlds, Nehemiah Holbert-Worlds and Artavious Holbert. Aunts: Nicole Plater-Nero (Joseph Nero), Angela Plater (Melvin Walker), & Keita Phelps. Uncles: Tranell Woodruff, Mario Woodruff & Joey Phelps. Favorite cousins/bro’s: Tre’Von Walker, LaKeta Plater, Candice Nero, Terrence Bennett, Bre Baker and Isaiah Phelps. Mother of children: Jaedyn Armendariz, Desjuha Wilkinson, Christeena Cannon & KayLynn Rooks. Jeremiah also leaves behind nieces, nephews and host of other family members & friends.

What a life to live one where he was always cheerful, loving and full of smiles spreading sunshine wherever he went! Jeremiah will be missed dearly. It is unbearable to think that we will never see his face, or big smile, his charming charisma, his prankster and joking personality or his voice say “What’s up baby” one more time. Love you to eternity see you when we get to Heaven!
