6/7/1954 – 1/27/2018

Ricky Hogan came into this world June 7, 1954.  He grew up as Ricky Johnson, and many of you know him as “Cools”.  He was the most loving and caring “Coolest” person we know.  Rick never met a stranger, and he was all things to all people.  Whenever someone called on him for help, support, counseling or whatever the need, Rick was there.  He didn’t think twice about it either!

Rick was a jack of all trades, his passion for working on cars and also home improvement, his signature is all over our home with remnants of his handy work. Everything he did was in his excellence; Rick took great pride in knowing the task was done well.  This carried over to his life with regards to relationships he had to be the best.  He was the best husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, friend coworker or whatever the role he played it doesn’t get any better.

Whenever he showed up you knew things were going to change, he would make you laugh, and if you were hurting he made you feel better with his words of wisdom and hugs. Rick never hesitated to tell you that he loved you.  He was with me, Karen, the love of his life for over forty years. Six children, twenty-four grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.  He was woven in the fabric of everyone’s lives.  We never had to worry because he was always there.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jeffery and his brother Bernard Jackson, son Ricky Booth.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Karen Hogan; sons Dawawn Robinson, Gary Hogan Jr. of Omaha, NE, Michael Williams of Dundee, FL; daughters Netria Jones, Antonia Barnum, Shamecha Holloway, of Omaha, NE. He also leaves to cherish his memories, twenty-four grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. He also leaves brothers, sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
