7/14/1953 – 3/15/2019

Alan David Larsen, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and three daughters on Friday, March 15, 2019. He was born on July 14, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska to Louis Larsen and Shirley (Evans) Larsen. Alan graduated from Benson High School in 1971. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1975, Military Police (Airborne). On April 27, 1973 he married Debra Timm. Together they had four daughters. Al and Deb enjoyed their time together, traveling, card nights and watching the grandchildren’s activities, Alan was most proud of his family. Alan founded Nova Microbial Technologies in 2002, he was a pioneer in his field and had recently sold his business and was looking forward to retirement, fishing and golfing with his wife, Deb. Alan had an uncanny ability to connect with people and bring humor and generosity to everyone he met. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Deb; daughters Sarah (Kenny) Jones, Rachel Porter, Laura Larsen and fiance, Don Strazdas. Ten grandchildren, Halie Buettner, Conner Buettner, Coby Buettner, Aliyah Buettner, Maia Buettner, Gage Crowell, Mason Crowell, Keeley Porter, Walker Porter and Alexander Strazdas. One brother, Robert (Jane) Larsen. Many family and friends. He was preceeded in death by his daughter, Mandy Lea Larsen and his parents Louis and Shirley Larsen.

Visitation Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gretna Chapel; Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2019 at Kountze Memorial Lutheran 2650 Farnam Omaha, Nebraska; Interment Arlington Cemetery Arlington, Nebraska.

Clifton Raymond Groves

Clifton Raymond Groves was born on May 30, 1946 in Kansas City Missouri to Rev. Boyd S. and Bennie Mae Groves.

He departed this life on March 8, 2019. Clifton (affectionately Cliff) graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation he attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. His college career was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Cliff served proudly and honorable as an Airborne Ranger Special Forces and he is a Vietnam Veteran. After his military service, he returned to the Kansas City area briefly but later relocated to the east coast. In 1970, he married Bonnie Mince and to that union one son, Rajah Groves was born.

Cliff dedicated his life to Christ in 2014 and became a member of The Worship Center in Omaha, Nebraska. As an active and faithful member, he was as committed a solider for the Lord as he was for the United States Army. He took church and prayer seriously, and every Tuesday when he was able from noon to 1:00 p.m., you could find him at church praying with the ‘Prayer Warriors’. Sunday morning service and Wednesday night Bible Study was a no miss for him. He enthusiastically participated withE-3, the Men’s Ministry of the church, and the Male Chorus. He was eager to share and do whatever he could, whenever he could. He was truly loved and appreciated by his church family.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Rajah Groves, Brooklyn, New York; three brothers, Winston O. Groves, Saranac Lake, New York; Rev. Dr. Israel Boyd S. Groves(Evangeline) Kansas City, Missouri; Wayne L. Groves, Cameron, Missouri; three sisters, Helen Y. Cole, Overland Park, Kansas; Gwendolyn T. Polson, Harrisonville, Missouri; and Juanda K. Lowe(Darryl), Omaha, NE; six nieces, five nephews; special friend Ms. Lori Reed of Charleston, South Carolina, and a host of friends and relatives across the United States.

Delairo Berach Koonce

Delairo Berach Koonce known to many as “D”, began his journey of life Chicago, Illinois on April 1, 1981. Delairo accepted Jesus Christ into to his life and was baptized on July 31, 2017. He was a member of Bridge Church. Delairo was the youngest son of Leatice Petross and Brian Koonce.
 
At a young age Delairo and his family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he grew up, he was educated in the Omaha Public Schools. He earned his GED and furthered his education at Metro Community College, as a result of having a great interest in business management. Delairo became a successful entrepreneur at a young age (he was a go-getter). Delairo owned and operated three business; L and L Lawn & Snow Removal, Best Property Management and an Auto detail shop.
 
One of D’s greatest accomplishments and one that he often mentioned was having family. As most children do, they drove him crazy, but he would do anything for them. Delairo was devoted in providing them with the tools necessary to maneuver through anything they faced in life.
 
Delairo believed giving the gift of time to his family was the most precious commodity he could provide. Family was his priority; for Delairo they always came first. His love for his children and family never faded. Delairo’s children were his life Delairo’s happiest moments was when attended Deshawn’s and Delairo’s wrestling tournaments, volleyball practice with Delaiya and going over numbers and letters with Teriya.
 
To know Delairo was to love him. In the minds and hearts of many “D” was known as the life of the party. He will always be remembered as a person who wanted to have a good time. His favorite meal was fried chicken from “Time Out”. His favorite pass-times were many, he enjoyed listening to music, working on cars and most of all spending time with his family.
 
Delairo had a fun-loving outgoing personality and the sweetest smile that could light up a room like a ray of sunshine. “D” was the kind of man that would offer you words of encouragement and good sound advice. Everyone that met him he touched their heart on some special way. Delairo gave all of us life lessons by his work ethic, patience, kindness, loyalty and trust.
 
During Delairo’s walk through life, he touched the lives of many, however his greatest seeds are his four beloved children: Delaiya, Deshawn, Delairo and Teriya.
 
There are many loved ones that cherish Delairo, his parents Leatrice Petross and Brian Koonce (Valera), brothers, Cameron Koonce, Shawnn (Stacey) Mapp, Brian Dennis and stepbrother Prince Lowe, sister; Niya Jackson, Takida (Willie) Lomax and Monica Rideout, grandmother Mrs. Delores Petross and his grandparents who preceded him in death Mr. & Mrs. James Koonce and Mr. Robert B Petross Sr., his aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces and a host cousins, the mothers of his loved and cherished children and his extended family and friends.
 
On March 3, 2019 Delairo joined the eternal Family of God. Delairo’s loving and memorable life will be forever cherished in the hearts of many, but especially his beloved family and friends.

9/15/1970 – 3/10/2019

Omaha – Joshua “Josh” Lee Jensen, 48 of Omaha, NE passed away suddenly on March 10, 2019.

Born 9/15/1970 in Newport Beach, CA , Josh had an amazing presence and a quick wit that could light up any situation he was in. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, camping, hiking and traveling.

After graduating from San Diego State University, he worked in financial services which brought him to Omaha.  His true love and passion was his family.  Josh was always eager to assist anyone in need and would literally give someone the shirt off his back. Josh may be gone from our sight, but never gone from our hearts and minds.  He is survived by wife Lisa, son Riley and daughter Ruby, his mother Teresa , brother Ben and sister Ashley Ebersole, and a large extended family .

Join us at Old Chicago 13110 Birch Dr.  on Thursday, March 14 from 6pm-9pm to celebrate Josh’s life.

The joy of Robert and his wife, Jeannette, were their children and three generations of grandchildren and attending all their sporting and 4-H events.  The schnauzers camping and helping family and friends filled their lives.
