Jeremy Felton

By | Uncategorized | 4 Comments

Jeremy Michael Felton was born to Janice Roberts-Felton and Rev. Melvyn Felton Sr. on November 18, 1986 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his early years, Jeremy showed the personality to follow in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps of preaching the gospel when, at the age of 2, he would tie a pillowcase around his neck as his robe and stand his red wagon up to be his podium and proclaim the goodness of God in his grandparent’s living room. Jeremy, like most young boys, loved sports and playing with his toys, but at a young age he exhibited a capacity of high intelligence and in 3rd grade was placed in gifted and talented classes at Emerson Elementary School. Jeremy was active in the St. John AME church youth department and was a standout player in the youth basketball league at Ben Hill Park.

Jeremy’s love for sports and scholastics continued as he enrolled at George Washington Carver Middle School, a premier magnet school for high performing academic students. There, Jeremy played football, basketball, and baseball and excelled at all sports. At home and amongst his family, Jeremy was known for his wit and great sense of humor. Jeremy always had a way of making complex tasks seem easy; he handled most things with calm and charm. After middle school, Jeremy moved north to Omaha, Nebraska to live with his father, and attended Omaha Central High school. There at Central, he once again was active in sports playing football and baseball. After graduating from Omaha Central, Jeremy decided to move back to Oklahoma and enrolled in Tulsa Community College.

After a year at TCC, Jeremy transferred to Langston University where he studied for two years. It was there at Langston that Jeremy realized that he wanted to be an entrepreneur and decided to leave school to pursue business ownership. In 2012, he and a friend created the I-Glass cell phone repair store, which is still in business in Tulsa today. In 2016 Jeremy moved back to Omaha to be with family.

Jeremy was a true and sincere spirit and greeted everyone with a smile. He never met a stranger. He was a great all-around person who was extremely intelligent, yet thoughtful, caring, and compassionate.

Jeremy is survived by his son, Jeremiah (Jennifer Dinkins, Mother); his parents, Rev. Melvyn Sr. and Janice; his sisters Kelli (James) Lindsey, Angela (Ronald) Felton-Coleman, Sukari Fox-Nathaniel; his brothers, Anthony, Steve Stephens II (Nickida), and Melvyn II; his fiancee, Diamond Davis; and a host of relatives, family, and friends.
