11/29/1933 – 10/22/2016

Mable (Allen) LeFlore was born November 29th, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born to the loving parents of Louis Christie and Stella Herford. She was the youngest of five children preceded by her brother Pete Allen, and sisters Rozetta Butler, Deloris Perkins, and Charlene Allen.

For reasons unknown, Mable did not graduate from high school. But she did work very hard to obtain her GED. This was a very proud moment for her, as this achievement allowed her to embarked on a long and successful career in the medical field. And that career spanned more than 25 years.

Although Mable spent her entire life in Omaha, she very much loved to travel and experience new places and things. And, throughout the years, she was able to fulfill this passion, with traveling to a vast variety of places. Proof of this was shown by her awesome collection of shot glasses, which came to be from all the places she visited over the years.  And she always very proudly displayed them in each of her homes.

Mable was joined in union to Kay Willard LeFlore Sr. on June 2nd, 1971. From this union she gained a most loving and truly dedicated husband. And he became a wonderful father and savior to her nine children. Their love and devotion lasted until Kay’s passing on February 12th, 2011.

Mable was called home on October 21st, 2016. Her loving memory will be cherished by her children Bob Allen, Terri Allen, Glenda Allen, Deloris McNair, Rodney Allen, Sherri Allen, Almetra Meadows, and Rosaline Clark. Grandchildren Marchella Allen, Anthony Johnson, Shawna McNair, Corey Allen, Darrell Meadows Jr., Nicole Allen, Augustus McNair Jr., Andre Shimon Allen, Darnell Lamar Allen, Michael Allen, Tony Allen, and Cameron Allen. She will also be fondly remembered by many personal friends and friends of the family. Mable was preceded, in death, by one of her children being call home. Her eldest son Tony Allen.

7/31/1944 – 10/22/2016

Rodney was born in Fullerton, Ne. He attended several different schools during his school years. He graduated from Herman High and always had a special place in his heart for the class of “62”

He worked for Braniff Airlines for many years and then went to work for Dultmeier Sales in Omaha, where he eventually retired. He worked in shipping. No one could wrap and label a package faster or neater than he could.

He was an avid fisherman for most of his life. He was a real expert with rods, reels, and lures. This was something he really enjoyed, but mostly it was catch and release. One of his favorite things was going on Minnesota fishing trips with his son Brad and his father in law Roger.

After he retired he was a good friend to the Nebraska Humane Society. He helped out there when he could and took care of many foster cats. His love for animals was very apparent from the many cats, squirrels, birds, etc. that he fed every day.

A Celebration of Rodney’s Life will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday (10/27/2016) at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N. 108th St Omaha, Nebraska
