Loysen J. Yungbluth

Loysen J. Yungbluth, Age 96 of Omaha passed away on October 13, 2016. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy.   Loysen was born in Wagner, SD. He was a farmer and a teacher at Boystown for 38 years.

Preceded in death by wife Mary F. Yungbluth , 2nd wife Helen Kosnjek and brother Donald Yungbluth.

Survived by children and spouses; Mary Landroth (Dale), Margaret Balling (David), Peter Yungbluth (Linda), Ann Naple, John Yungbluth (Cathy), Joseph Yungbluth (Susan), James Yungbluth (Becky), Thomas Yungbluth and Carol Norney; step-children; Louis Kosnjek (Sandy), Joe Kosnjek (Clancy), Mary Kosnjek, Frances Pease (Todd), Susan Leonard (Daniel) and Margie Brugmann (Bryan), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters; Thelda Kothe, Ione Bertsch and Carol Baird.

Visitation 5pm, wake service 7pm October 17 at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St. Omaha, NE. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am October 18 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Drive Omaha, NE. Interment 1pm October 19 at St. John Cemetery, Wagner, South Dakota.

Donald Andrew “Chris” Christensen

Age 89

Of Omaha passed away on October 5, 2016. He was born on December 7, 1926 in Omaha, NE to Victor and Hattie (Schultz) Christensen. He was also a resident of Florida. Chris, a Navy veteran of WWll, served as a helmsman at age 18 on the USS Saidor CVE-117. He was a member of VFW Post #2503. Chris married Margaret Roberts in 1948. She predeceased him in 2010. Chris had a long career in the oil industry owning Oil Products, Inc, sold in 2000 when he retired. Chris had many hobbies; notably fishing, camping, hunting, rock collecting, traveling enthusiast in the US and abroad. He also lived in Key West, Florida, boating and fishing since 1977. Chris is survived by his children; Sandra Kresl and husband John; Mark Christensen and wife Terri; and youngest daughter, Gayle Farris; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; sister in law; Mary Roberts Jacobsen; brothers in law; John and Joseph Roberts; also a host of nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.

Layton “Jim” Jacobs, born May 8, 1933 is survived by his wife of 59 years, Madeline (Hughes) Jacobs, children Cindy  Doran (Tom) and Jeff Jacobs (Lisa), 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Cork Jacobs (Genne), Dan Jacobs (Kay) and sister-in-law Jennie Jacobs.  Jim passed away September 27, 2016 in Omaha, NE.

He was an Army Veteran and proudly served in the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Weldon and Hazel (Archer) Jacobs and brother Pat Jacobs.

Memorial Services and luncheon will be held October 8, 2016 at the V.F.W., 8904 Military Road, Omaha, NE from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
