Claude W. White was born on July 19, 1953 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. God called Claude home to rest on December 17, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Richard White and Leona (Malone) White; brothers Prentice Leavell and Rev. Richard White, Jr.; and his only child Yolanda Thompson. Survivors include his special friend, Nancy White; two grandchildren Trevon and Tynea Thompson; sisters Goldie Hopkins, Betsy Ward, and Annie Leavell; one aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Claude graduated from Hopkinsville High School in 1972. He spent 9 years in the Air Force and excelled as a Morse code operator. He loved playing basketball and football in high school and the Air Force and played on a Turkish professional basketball team. Later he became a sports official and scheduled officials for various sports in the Omaha area. He started the African American Sports Official Assn. (AAMSOA). He was the State Black Director for USSSA and was selected to work 2 mens major world championships. He worked for the city of Omaha in Parks and Recreation as a clerk at Millard Library from which he retired in September-2016.

Claude had a curious mind and many interests. He was the Curriculum Director for J’s Brain Trust which taught young adults financial literacy. His last endeavor was a streaming radio show, The Mark on 1690 AM. He loved people, kids and especially his family. His niece, Chadvina, said that Claude’s life and presence will be missed but he made sure that he will never be forgotten.
