Debbie “Stubby” Kay Sinclair (age 62) of Omaha, NE passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 14, 2017. Beloved wife to Hal Sinclair for nearly 40 years. Loving mother to Andy (Jen) Sinclair of Elkhorn, Chad (Randi) Sinclair of Elkhorn, and Ross (Jen) Sinclair of Omaha. Cherished “Grandma Stub” to Owen, Ellie, and Gordon; Grady and Jack; and Calvin. Sister and best friend to Barb (Dick) Cole of Omaha. Loved by several nieces and nephews and many friends from every stage of her life. Preceded in death by mother Dottie and stepfather Ralph Steffa, father Art Kempf, sister Pattie Chase, brother in law Patrick, and niece Cory Graham.
Stubby was born on October 3, 1954. She graduated from Benson High School in 1972 and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Stubby and Hal were married on August 20, 1977 at First Methodist Church in Omaha. She spent her best years with her boys; whether on a stage, a ball field, or watching them play in their backyard through her kitchen window. Stubby loved being involved in her kids’ lives, whether it be with youth sports or Westside High School activities. She was happiest surrounded by family and friends and splitting a plate of nachos with her husband. Next to her boys, Stubby’s grandchildren were her greatest blessings and she took every opportunity to be with them. As a celebration of Stubby’s beautiful life, please wear bright colors.

Grief is a process that’s different for every individual. It’s comforting to know that we have a Heavenly Father who knows our inner-most struggles to come to terms with our loss. I recently lost a brother, a sister-in-law and most recently a best friend so I can sympathize with your pain. I found a comforting scripture at 2 Corithians 1:3-4 which speaks of Jehovah as the God of all comfort who comforts us in all of our trials. I hope this brings you the same comfort as it has me. My sincere condolences to the family for your loss. May the promises in God’s word provide you with comfort and strength during this most difficult time. John 5:28-29
.Stubby,
We were in class together at Fontenelle Elementary and then again at Benson. You were always kind, gracious, upbeat and cheerful and a great friend. You were a Pom Pom if I remember correctly. Journey well into the next existence. “There is no death. Only a change in worlds.” Chief Seattle.
I knew Debbie at Benson High School (Class of ’72). My sympathy to Hal and the rest of her family.
Debbie helped bring joy, smiles, and great experiences to many children with special needs playing baseball through her volunteer efforts with the AllPlay Miracle Buddy Baseball League. She was always a “I’ll do whatever you need” and joyous volunteer. We appreciated the time that Debbie spent volunteering at AllPlay, and will truly miss her.
May the Lord grant you peace
