5/31/1969 – 3/31/2018
Born in Newark, Ohio and raised in California and Colorado, Jason graduated from Chatfield High School in Littleton, Colorado in 1987. While attending Creighton University, Jason was a student athlete who double majored in accounting and finance and played baseball. Jason was a standout player during his senior season, which ultimately culminated in Creighton’s historic trip to the 1991 College World Series. It was at Creighton where Jason met his wife Kerry, who he married in 1992.
Jason started his career on the audit staff at Union Pacific, where he worked until 1994. It was at this stage in his life that his career ambitions pivoted towards the financial field, and as a result he became a Financial Consultant for Salomon Smith Barney where he was employed for 20 years. In 2013, he moved to RBC Wealth Management and became a Senior Vice President for the firm. Jason took pride in helping others with their investments, as evident by the number of friends and acquaintances accumulated over his extended tenure in the industry.
Jason had an intense passion for sports, especially coaching baseball, which he did in Omaha for over 10 years. You could find Jason passing along his love and knowledge for the game of baseball with a myriad of organizations, most notably the Omaha Royals, which both of his sons played for. Once Jason finished coaching, he turned his attention to the links and developed a vested interest in golf. His realization that his motto of “what you put into something is what you get out of it” could not be more true after posting the first few rounds of play once baseball was over. He continued to work on his golf game and enjoyed taking trips with his friends and family to do so.
Jason was a loyal son, brother, friend, husband, and father. His exemplary character and undying affection was felt by all those who were close to him.
