Joanne and Family, I have many great memories of coaching with “Grance” at O’Neill. I was an assistant coach under Jerry in football and he was my assistant in track. During this time, Jerry taught me many things not only about the sport we both loved but life in general. Jerry will always be one of the great coaches in the history of high school football in the state of Nebraska. Take care and God Bless….
Aunt Joanne and Family, I am so sorry and saddened to hear the news of Jerry passing. What a gift he was to all of us. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May you find peace and comfort from everyone who surrounds you in this time of sorrow. Hold onto those wonderful and beautiful memories. Coach Grancer will be missed. I love you all.
Joanne, this is a voice from the past–Marlene from ESU8 in O’Neill. I want to extend my sympathy in the loss of Jerry. I read of his passing in the Lincoln paper. 61 years is a long time-you will miss him greatly. We are both retired and live in Lincoln where 2 of our sons and 6 of the 7 grandchildren lived until yesterday when one family moved to Texas. God bless and comfort Joanne. Love and prayers, Marlene
So sorry to hear of your loss. Had the privilege of having Coach for several years in Beatrice and will never forget him. Thank you for sharing his with us, not only coaching us but teaching us life. Jason Baxa

To the family, I am very sorry to hear about Coach Grancer’s passing. He went to young at 81. I know he was very loved by his family and I ask that God may bless all of you in this time of sorrow and help you through this. Coach Grancer had a great impact on my life. I did not realize until I coached freshman football for several years at Norris High School. I used a lot of his drills and instilled a toughness into the young men that helped us win some games we were expected to loose. So his legacy lives on in the lives of these young fellows. I guess that is one of the purposes of why we were put on this earth. To pass on some good values and ethics from generation to generation. My thoughts are with you.

Joanne, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you and holding you and all those who loved Jerry in prayer. It’s been a long time ago now, but we worked together in O’Neill at the Learning Center. I have fond memories of working with you.
