Loretta L. Suhr, 79, passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on January 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family in Gretna, NE.  Loretta was born on January 19, 1936 to Cassius Clay DaVault and LuEva (Johnston) DaVault in Elmo, MO. As a young girl, Loretta and her family moved to Nebraska where she finally settled in Gretna. She attended Gretna High School where she enjoyed Music and playing volleyball.   She was united in marriage on July 10, 1964 to Ron Suhr. Loretta worked as a medical and dental assistant before becoming a full-time homemaker until Ron retired. Her zest for life, infectious smile, and exuberant laugh will always be remembered and greatly missed. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joyce Tippen and Ruth Houser; nephew, Larry Frederick and many of her cherished friends.She is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Jeff (Lori) Suhr, Kristi (Larry)Bruns and Ron (Kathy) Suhr, Jr.; grandchildren, Cara (Ron) Henderson, Scott Suhr, Ben (Rachel) Bruns, Cody Bruns, Maggie Suhr and Kloee Suhr; great-grandchildren Emmy Henderson and Mya Henderson; sister, Phyllis (Ed) Frederick and many nieces and nephews. Memorials to be directed to the family for later designation.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 6th from 4pm – 6pm with a Rosary at 6pm at Roeder Mortuary in Gretna. Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday, January 7th at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church 508 Angus Street in Gretna.

    You have my heart felt sympathy for the loss of a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. I will always remember Loretta as a fun loving, warm and generous person, who loved her family, her dogs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. May peace and comfort be your in the days ahead.

She will be deeply missed but may all the good memories keep her alive in your hearts! May God comfort you all during this difficult time.
