10/28/1941 – 3/13/2016
Maryann was born in 1941 in the small town of Emmetsburg, Iowa. She grew up in a farming community with her parents and two brothers. After high school, she found her way to Omaha. Years later, she met a young man, Harley, fell in love and began a family of here own. Her purpose, she soon found, was to care for not only her own, but other children as well. She then took on the role as a loving wife, mother, and second mom to many. Her nurturing ways have built the foundation for many who have grown to become the wonderful people they are today.
She has been described as having one of the most beautiful souls. She never complained nor had a negative word about anyone. She was the comfort in struggling situations and an ear to many. She remembered everyone’s birthday, and started many traditions that are still present in households today, such as the lunch prayer of “Come Lord Jesus”.
Her gift as a nurturer expanded into additional friends who soon were just part of our family. No matter where she meet you or who you were, she always made you feel important.
Her journey to Heaven began with her choice due to the quality of her life. She wanted to be at peace and wanted to reunite with her true love. As we heard from so many ” there is no Maryann without Harley and no Harley without Maryann ” We feel honored and at peace that they are once again together, a true love story until the end.
Maryann will be dearly missed and although she may be gone from our eyes she will live in eternity in our hearts.

What a wonderful obituary and tribute to a very special person, Maryann. My husband and I met Maryann and Harley in 2009 when we started attending St. Paul United Methodist. Their warm and friendly personalities made us feel at home at St. Paul. We will miss them very much but will know that they are together in heaven!
