1/9/1927 – 5/10/2018
Maxine was the second daughter, born to Clem and Elizabeth Klocke, in Dedham, Iowa. She had 15 brothers and sisters, who she loved and cared for deeply.
She married Gene McFarland and they raised 9 children together. When raising her children, she worked as a “Street Sheerer,” mowed lawns, and hauled water. She loved to garden, watch ball games, play cards, sew, and bake.
Maxine was a devout member of St. Philip Neri Church.
Maxine cherished her time with family and friends and know that she loved each of you.
We know after all the welcoming was done, she said, “get the cards out.”
Thank you for your prayers and kindness.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s comforting to know that we have a Heavenly Father who knows our inner-most struggles to come to terms with our loss. I recently lost a brother, a sister-in-law and most recently a best friend so I can sympathize with your pain. I found a comforting scripture at 2 Corithians 1:3-4 which speaks of Jehovah as the God of all comfort who comforts us in all of our trials. I hope this brings you the same comfort as it has me. It is with sadness in my heart that I make this contact, I just heard about your loss. I want to offer my sincere condolences to the extended family of Gene and Maxine McFarland.
My memories of her are many especially of the interactions between your Mom and Mine. I remember the smell of fresh baked bread from Her busy farm kitchen, Her garden, She had a busy Family and Home. Yet she always made time to be that “Loving Neighbor”.
She was a dedicated mother that loved her family and their involvement in baseball. She was always supportive and willing to help. “Even a neighbor boy like me.”
Your loss brings tears to my Eyes. My Prayers and Love are for you and your Family.
God’s Blessings and Comfort be with you now and until you are reunited with Her in His Kingdom. Amen
From Your Neighbor,
Roger
