Gennett Elind Jones

Gennett E. Jones was a gift from God on August 14, 1950. She was born in Canton, Mississippi to the late George S. and Celestine Jones. She was the youngest of nine siblings. Attended Rogers High School in Canton, Mississippi and received her high school diploma at Tech High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She confessed Christ at A.M.E. Zion Church in Canton, Mississippi at an early age.

Gennett, aka “Bush”, was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing for others, quilting, and baking desserts, which was a support to her family of six children. She was a great decision maker and protector of her children. She had a quiet spirit about her and kept to herself.

Gennett was preceded in death by her mother and father, George S and Celestine Jones; brothers, Henry McDaniel and Levandia Jones; sisters, Rosie L. Jones-Edmonds and Mary E. Flowers; and son, Michael Lindell Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Lamar Jones (Julia) of Omaha, Richard Binnett (Claudia) of Sennfeld, Germany, James Binnett of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Elaine Walker-White (Leonard) of Atlanta, Georgia, Pecola Jones of Omaha; “Special Friend, Robert Cruz”; sisters, Francis M. Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dorothy Johnson (Bernice) of Omaha, Gene Saunders of Arlington, Texas, Pecola William of Omaha; 18 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

You fought the good fight, which gave us strength, now the time has come for your rest in all Gods Glory so go in peace, you have earned your reward, “Heaven at last.”

Caroline Dorothea (Knipp) Riederer

Caroline Dorothea (Knipp) Riederer,  100 years 5 months and 18 days, died peacefully on July 18, 2017 at Brighton Gardens Nursing Home in Omaha, NE. Caroline was born February 1, 1917, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Julia Knipp.
Caroline graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1935.  She married the love of her life, Joseph Alois Riederer, on September 26, 1936. Joe enjoyed a professional business career with the J. C.  Penney Co. as store Managers. The Penney Company transferred Joe and Caroline six times in his 43 year career. Their transfers included: Racine, Wisconsin; Dixon, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; Long Island, New York; Coldwater, Michigan; final transfer back to Racine, Wisconsin.
After Joe’s retirement in 1974, they moved to Sun City, Arizona. Together they enjoyed golfing, bowling, ballroom dancing,  traveling and socializing with family and friends for 20 years. Upon Joe’s death on September 4, 1994, Caroline continued to live in their Sun City home for another six years.
In 2000, Caroline moved to Omaha, Nebraska to enjoy family time with her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Chuck Gleason. She lived semi-independently in her apartment for twelve years. Chuck and Sherri were her care takers during this time as Caroline’s health declined. On April 26, 2012 ,at age 95 she moved to Brighton Gardens Skilled Care Facility until her passing on July 18, 2017.
Caroline was proceeded in death by: parents, Peter and Julia Knipp; brother, Leonard Elmer Knipp; spouse, Joseph Alois Riederer and son, Robert Lee Riederer.
Caroline is survived by: son, Paul  (Carol) Riederer; daughter, Sharon (Charles) Gleason; daughter-in-law, Nancy Riederer.
She is survived by 6 Grand Children: Cindy Ayres of Scottsdale, AZ;  Denise( Jeff) Mueller of Lindenhurst, IL;  Shelly ( David) Lukasik of Lindenhurst, IL; Christopher (Jennifer) Gleason of Frisco, TX; Caryn (Tim) Hein of Waukesha, WI; Ryan (Monica) Riederer of Brookfield, WI.
Caroline is also survived by 14 great grandchildren: Dylan and Quinn Ayres; Benjamin, Daniel and Chad Mueller; Chloe, Sophie and Tesa Lukasik; Anthony and Abby Gleason; Marin and Evan Hein; Tyler and Riley Riederer.  She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Hildegarde Rebanack of Manitowoc WI and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are provided by Roeder Mortuary, Omaha , NE. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church on August 5, 2017.  A  Memorial Service and interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Racine, WI on September 1, 2017.
