Mark Andrew Christensen Sr. was born on December 14, 1952 and had a fun filled life in Omaha, NE.  On November 16, 1973 Mark walked down the aisle to meet his beautiful bride Terri (Donahoe) Christensen. Mark had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. His mission in life was to teach his grandchildren how to read the river, drive a golf cart, play cards and dice. His grandchildren would call out his name to provide them ice cream sandwiches after a long day of school or learning life lessons. He was a member of the Shriner’s and VFW. His favorite memories of being a Shriner is when he entertained the children, while he wore his red nose as a clown named Suds. Mark was a dedicated son and employee to his father’s company Oil Products.  He had a drive to service his customers in the Nebraska and Iowa area with high quality oil products. His claim to fame was when he introduced Ethanol to the Iowa market.  Mark’s greatest quality according to his family and friends was his undying passion to protect his family and his sense of humor.  He is survived by wife Theresa, children Kelly (Kyle) Schrader, Tracy (Mike) Hasenjager, Mark (Nichole) Christensen Jr., Pat (Colleen) Christensen, Brian Christensen and his sisters Sandra (John) Kresl and Gayle Farris.  God blessed Mark with an army of 11 grandchildren that loved him with their whole hearts. 4/14/1938 – 4/3/2019
Bennington – Survived by wife Marlou, children Barry, Brian (Julie), Beth (Jeff) Dillow, grandchildren Bradley (Kassie), Michael, Claudia, Louisa, siblings Mary (Elmer) Wall, David (Diane), family & friends.

Visitation Tuesday 5-7 PM. Funeral Service Wednesday (4/10/19) 10:00 AM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street Omaha, NE. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter.

Lee was born April 14, 1938 in Laurium, Michigan and spent his early youth in Iron River, Michigan, enjoying skiing and other outdoor activities in the Upper Peninsula. He was the oldest of four children — Mary (Wall), Donovan and David. The family later moved to Carroll, Iowa, where he attended and graduated high school.
He attended Northwest Missouri State University for a time before moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where he became manager of Omaha Print and met wife, Marlou. They married Sept. 23, 1961 and had three children — Barry, Brian and Beth (Dillow). Lee was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army reserves and had a long career as a sales representative and later a national sales director for companies such as Norcross, C.R. Gibson, Prince Gardner, Pioneer Photo and D F Albums. The family lived in Sioux City and Bettendorf, Iowa, for a brief time before moving back to Omaha for many years. After children graduated high school, Lee and Marlou moved to Atlanta and Baltimore for his job and returned to the Midwest, settling and retiring in Kansas City.
Lee blended his sales skills and favorite hobby of pen collecting by working at the specialty pen store Pen Place in Kansas City’s Crown Center for several years.
Lee was a proud grandfather of four (Bradley, Michael, Claudia and Louisa), and he enjoyed meeting new people and making lifelong friends wherever he went. He would have so enjoyed being with you here this week … sharing a cup of coffee, having a laugh and maybe even giving you a pen. Lee’s so glad you were part of his story, and looks forward to seeing you in the next chapter.
