9/6/1939  –  4/24/2017

Luther Johnson was born September 6, 1939 in Selma, Arkansas.  He came to Omaha in 1959 and worked as a heavy equipment operator for 25 years, retiring in 1995.  He was also a member on the Local 571; International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE). Before his passing, he lived in Carson, Iowa.

Luther loved to hunt and especially fish.  He traveled all over the western United States and his favorite places were the mountains.

Luther leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Linda Johnson; Children: Curtis (Patricia), Mike, Darryl (Marsha), Pamela; 18 Grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren; and 2 Great-great-grandchild; Brothers: Andrew, Jr of Omaha, Alvin of Omaha, and Curtis (Lee) of Houston, TX.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday (4/30/2017), and a Memorial Service 2:00 PM Monday (5/1/2017) all at Roeder Mortuary 4932 Ames Avenue Omaha, Nebraska.

Zipporah T. Bunger

It is with profound regret that we announce the passing of Zipporah Bunger in California on April 21, 2017.  Beloved wife of John Bunger, adoring mother of Lincoln Bunger.  Daughter of the late Ernest Asewe Gwena and the late Sarah Wagasa Asewe.  Sister of Joab Asewe, Mary Muraya, Mark Gwena, Rebecca Asewe, Musa Asewe, Ruth Asewe, Margaret Skalberg. Sister-in-law to Tina Bunger Spencer, Michael Bunger, Scott Bunger and Brooke Bunger Studt, Judy Nyang’oa, Joshua Kamina, Rosemary Gwena, Alex Musembi. Loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation 4pm-6pm Sunday,(4/30/17) at Roeder Mortuary.

Funeral 10:00AM Monday (5/01/17) at First Central Congregational,

Retired from B.G. Peterson Company. U.S. Army Air Corp. Preceded in Death by Wife: Norma Bueltel, Parents, Daughters – In – Law: Cyndi Bueltel & Donna Bueltel, 1 Brother & 5 Sisters. Survived by Children: Randy Bueltel, Gary Bueltel, (Laura Fenoglio), Terry Bueltel, Bryan Bueltel & Lisa (John) Bueltel – Donovan. 6 Grandchildren & 6 Great Grandchildren. Mary E. Nash

12/25/1942  –  4/22/2017

On April 22, 2017, we lost our loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, Mary Ellen Nash. She was born December 25, 1942 in Fulton, Arkansas, to the union of Arthur Nash and Laura Nash.

She moved to Omaha, Nebraska with her family at the age of 11. She started her family and began work as a dietitian at Methodist Midtown. She raised 5 children: Mary B. Chavarria, Wilbur A. Rich, Curtis L. Nettles, Phillip E. Nettles, and Regina M. Adams.

She was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Earnestine Nash Holmes; brothers, Clyde M. McFadden, Augustus C. McFadden, James N. Nash; mother, Laura Nash; and father, Arthur Nash.

She leaves in morning children, Mary B. Chavarria (Leonel), Wilbur A. Rich, Curtis L. Nettles (Crystal), Phillip E. Nettles (Kawasha), Regina M. Adams (Eddie); siblings, twin brother James E. Nash, Leon McFadden, Dorothy Thorton, Retha Thomas, Ruth Watkins, Jonathan Nash, Hannah Moore, and Althea N. Lee.  She also leaves beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Service for Mary 11:00 AM Friday (4/28/2017) at Pilgrim Baptist Church 2501 Hamilton Street Omaha, Nebraska
