Jonah was active in the League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha ,  National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Omaha, Nebraska Health and Human Services System Douglas County Health Department, and several organizations within Omaha.

Patricia J. Te Kolste

12/14/1921 – 1/14/2017

Patricia “Pat” Te Kolste graduated with Honors from UNL in 1944 with a Bachelors Degree.  Her major was Primary Education with a minor in English.  It was at UNL where Pat and Dale first met. They were married for 70 years.

Her record of altruism and service has been life long. Since 1974, Pat has been of service to the Nebraska Methodist Health System—first with the volunteers at Methodist Hospital. She then served as President in 1976 and received the Lifetime Volunteers Award in 1990. She served on the Executive Board of the volunteers and Board of Trustees of Nebraska Methodist Hospital from 1977 to 1984 and continued to be an Advisory Board member of Nebraska Methodist Hospital for a number of years.

Pat held an interest in Nebraska Methodist College since the mid 1970’s when volunteers were needed to support students. She became a member of the Nebraska Methodist College Board of Directors in 1987, and received the 1993 Nebraska Methodist College Vision Award for her dedication and hard work.

When Pat wasn’t being of service in the community, she was a dedicated mom and grandmother.  Her family thinks of her as a woman with a presence of grace. She was always kind to everyone who took care of her, especially in the last few years when many caretakers came to help her.  Never allowing her physical challenges to control her life,  she maintained her inner strength, faith, and love until the very end.  She will be missed by many.

Mary Belle Thompson

Mary Belle Thompson was born Mary Belle Patterson the youngest of 13 to Mr and Mrs Ervin Patterson Sr. on December 15, 1928 in Pineapple, Alabama.

On Thursday, January 12, 2017 Mary made her transition to her eternal home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Francyne Vanessa Hurry and her son Elston Gene McCarthur.

Growing up as a child Mary was baptized at First Baptist Church in Pineapple, Alabama where she was a faithful member. Mary, graduated from high school and later taught proofreading at the local grade school, and later attended college.

Mary was married to her devoted husband, Bill Thompson. Mary attended Pilgrim Baptist church, and later in her life she attended Mount Mariah, then Salem Baptist Church with her loving husband Bill.

Mary was a family oriented women, she believed in keeping her family close with family gatherings every holiday, family travels, as well as family events. Mary often traveled to Birmingham, Alabama and Pensicola Florida to visit her siblings , as well as her niece Mildred White and other nieces and nephews.

In Mary’s early years she enjoyed fashion, as well as spending time in her yard planting flowers. In her later years she spent her time with her beloved husband, her children, her many grandchildren, as well as her family members in Alabama and Florida.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, Husband, William (Bill) Thompson, children,Tyrone Patterson, John Ellis McCarthur, Pamela, McCarthur,  Betty McCarthur and Ellis (Kim) McCarthur. Her beautiful  grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as her beloved niece, Mildred White, other nieces and nephews in Alabama and Pensicola, Florida, as well as her beloved friends.

Mary was greatly loved and will truly be missed.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Friday January 20, 2017 at Roeder Mortuary – 4932 Ames Ave. Visitation will be Thursday January 19, 2017 6:00PM-7:30PM also at Mortuary.
