Age 67. Charles “Charlie (Hans)” Vogel was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl “Sugar” Vogel, his children, Dani Johnson and Joey Vogel of Yelm, WA, his step children, Destiney Coon (Billy), Sean Vest (Shannon), Andrew Vest, and Nicholas Vest (Emily), all of Omaha, NE, eight grandchildren and his dog, Little Boy.

Memorial Service 11:30AM Wednesday (11/30/16) at the Ft Calhoun Community Center, 124 S. 11th Street, with a reception to follow.

Steven M. Cockerill

11/1/1961 – 11/20/2016

Steven Michael Cockerill born in Omaha, NE Nov. 1, 1961 and passed away Nov. 20, 2016. Steve attended Platteview High School and after graduation Steve stayed home to help with the family feed lot, trucking company and farming. Steve loved the farm and started selling used farm equipment which started Cockerill Equipment.

Steve lived his entire life in Springfield but has always wanted to move to western Nebraska or Wyoming. His love for Wyoming Cowboy football was great.

Steve married Barbara Eliker (Maxwell) June 23, 2006, he became a stepfather and grandfather on that day and stepped up to be the best.

Steve has strong ties with many people all over the state. He has many friends and family.
Visitation Sunday 3-5 PM with Vigil Service 5 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Springfield, NE. Funeral Service Monday (11/28/2016) 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Springfield, NE 100 9th Street Springfield, NE. Interment Fairview Cemetery at  Papillion, Nebraska.  Memorials to the family to be determined later.

Robert “Rob” Chandler

6/25/1948 – 11/23/2016

Rob spent his life loving his family and friends. Rob died of a heart attack Wednesday at age 68 at his home in Omaha. Rob was born June 25, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska. A “Benson Bunny”, Rob played football at the University of Wyoming and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Rob later became the owner of Chandler Leasing, an auto and equipment consulting business that he built with his father, Rex. Rob dedicated his life to his family and friends and could often be heard in the stands or on the sidelines at his children’s athletic activities. His generous spirit, loud voice and sense of humor made him loved by many. Preceded in death by mother, Genevieve, and father, Rex, Rob is survived by his wife, Marlene Chandler; children: Jessica (Sean) McCubbin, Eric (Chaley) Chandler, Ryan (Lacey) Chandler; 4 grandchildren: Deja, Blake, Logan, and Peyton; siblings: Barbara Gutschlag, Judy (Jerry) Polski, Susan “Susie” Hoskevec, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Monday  (11/28/2016) from 5 to 7 PM at Presbyterian Church of the Master, 10710 Corby Cir.in Omaha. The funeral will be Tuesday (11/29/2016) at 11 AM, also at the church.

Born in Dawson, NE, September 6, 1933. Graduated in 1951 from Dawson High School. BS in Education from Peru State College in 1961, MS in Education from Kearney in 1977. Teacher and Coach for 27 years; Stapleton, Nebraska Public Schools 1961-1965; Gothenburg, Nebraska Public Schools 1965-1970; Curtis Medicine Valley High School 1970-1977; Roncalli Catholic High School 1977-1988. Served 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict onboard the USS Walton (DE-361) and the Naval Station Astoria, Oregon 1952-1956.

Preceded in death by spouse Edna June (Russell); parents Earnest A. and Anna M. (Adams); brothers Qualls E., Joseph W., John C.; sisters Anna L. Farnsworth and Rose Mary Inglis; grandsons Kenneth J. Robinson and Ian Shepherd. Survived by sons Douglas S. (Carrie) of North Platte, Nebraska and Allen R. (Michelle) of North Platte, Nebraska; daughters Catherine A. Eriksen of Aloha, Oregon, Mary E. (Eric) Linville of Humboldt, Nebraska, Karen M. (Greg) McCarty of Clarksville, Missouri, Paula E. (Bill) Wakefield of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Lisa J. of Omaha, Nebraska; Sister Margaret A. Weagel of Falls City, Nebraska; brothers Thomas A. of Falls City, Nebraska, Carl F. of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Michael C. of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
