Jerome “Jerry” Kraemer

Jerome Gregor Kraemer (Jerry) was born on April 29, 1922, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Katherine Resch Kraemer and Gregor Kraemer. He attended Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, where he played center on the football team (#72).   Jerry served in the United States Naval Construction Forces during world W II in the South Pacific.  He attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Mn. and began a career in the insurance business in 1948. In 1988 he retired as a Vice President with Central States Indemnity. While at CSO he received an award for his innovative approach to working with clients.  “TO CARE IS TO GROW” OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD 1987.  While living at Lakeside Village Retirement Community, he chaired the Lakeside Village scholarship committee for several years.

Survived by children and spouses Maureen Kraemer Adams (David), Dan Kraemer (Maureen), John Kraemer (Devin), Ed Kraemer (Mary), Mary Kraemer, Rosie Tomka (Gerry) 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother Father Edwin Kraemer, sister Mary Torborg (Lee), sister-in-law, Ellie Kraemer,  many nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Loving family friend and caregiver, Grey Morales.  Preceded in death by wife Maureen, son James Kraemer and daughter-in-law Teena Kraemer.

Visitation 5-7:00 PM Friday 108th Chapel with Memorial Tribute 7-8:30 PM Friday.  Memorial Mass 10:30 A.M. Saturday at  Lakeside Village 17475 Frances in Omaha, private family interment.  Memorials to Lakeside Scholarship Fund.   Member of Knights of Columbus.  Jerry touched the hearts of many with his faith and his inimitable spirit.  He  made a difference in someone’s life every day.
