Hershel J. Shouse

4/4/1928 – 10/7/2015

 

Hershel was born on April 4th, 1928 in Browning, Missouri. He was an only child. Hershel graduated from Omaha North High School, where he met his future wife, Maryann Jane Taylor. Together they had four children.

Hershel retired from working at OPPD, where he served as chief accountant. He also served as President of the 360 Rifle & Pistol Club. He enjoyed hunting, particularly pheasant and deer.

Hershel and Maryann took many bus tours and vacations across the United States, visiting every state except Alaska.

For the last two years, Hershel and Maryann have enjoyed their retirement at the Waterford at Miracle Hills Assisted Living facility.

He is Survived by Wife of 67 years: Maryann; Children: Mike (Shirley), Nancy

(Terry) Yohn, Judy (Bob) Long, Lori Kimmons; 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren; And a host of other loving family and friends.

5/10/1927 – 9/28/2015

Of Omaha, survived by She is survived by her loving husband, John of Omaha. She is also  survived by three children John E (Sherrie), Jane (Kevin Dowd),  and Jim (Nadyne), and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,  her only brother, and granddaughter Remembrance Dowd.

Visitation  Friday 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street Omaha, NE. Memorial Service Saturday (10/10/15) 11:00 AM at Crosspoint Bible Church 7820 Fort Street Omaha, NE. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park at Omaha, Nebraska.  The family suggests memorials to Crosspoint Bible Church.

  7/19/1974 – 10/3/2015
Gretna – There are no words to describe Heather.  She was a devoted and
extraordinary wife, mother, daughter and friend but above all she was love.
Preceded in death by father, Wesley Williams. Survived by husband, Benjamin Norvig; children, Faith, Hope and Grace; mother, Mickey Williams; father and mother in-law, John and Kim Norvig; brother in-law, Justin; best friend and sister, Stacy (Jake) Sells and their children, Sydney, Nick and Molly. Memorials suggested to the family to be placed in a trust for the girls.

VISITATION Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm at Acts 2 Church located at 20362 Husker Dr. CELEBRATION OF LIFE Friday, October 9, 2015 at 1:00pm at Kingsway Christian Church located at 1106 S. 139th St.  By request of the girls please wear something with a “pop of color” to reflect Heather’s life. Ice cream sundaes will follow the service.

Walter C. Mailand

5/21/1924 – 9/26/2015

Omaha – Walter passed away Saturday , Sept 26th at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 5 days in Dewitt, MI. He was born May 21, 1924 in Omaha, NE. The son of Walter C. and Karen M. (Andersen) Mailand, Walter proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World II as an anti-aircraft gunner in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged . He worked for Mutual of Omaha in various capacities for 39 years, 7 months and 23 days, retiring with Group Pensions. He was the first president and charter member of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (CEBS). Walt was an avid reader and in recent years never went anywhere without a book. He also enjoyed reading with the 2nd graders at Conestoga School. He was an active member of the Tangier Shrine, Omaha Golden K Kiwanis Club, and Morning Star Lutheran Church. Walter sang in the church choir and the Shrine Chanters for many years. He was a lifelong Husker football fan (now he has new seats with a better view). Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Frances (Tapley) Mailand. Walter is survived by his son Tom (Kathi); grandchildren, Kevin, David, Nicole, Andy, and 2 great grandchildren
