Omaha.  Survived by his wife, Gloria; daughters, Mary of Brooklyn, NY and Ellen of Salt Lake City, UT; stepdaughters, Buffy (Dan) Baca and Beth (Brian) Nodes; stepson, Brett(Kari) Bennett;  step grandchildren, Nick, David, Matt, Brittany, Taylor, Grace, Sam, Hailey, Ben and Brooke ; brother, Richard (Ruth) of Golden, CO; sister-in-law, LaVaughn of Sarasota, CA and a number of nieces and nephews.  Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Sisi and his brother, Robert.

1/29/1931 – 7/19/2015

Of Omaha, Richard practiced Veterinary Medicine for 38 years at the Benson Animal Clinic. Richard and his wife of 60 years, Dolores (Handler) Sambol were both raised in the Kansas City, Kansas area. Richard graduated from Kansas State Veterinary School and served 2 years as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Veterinary Core in Philadelphia. He took his first job in Indianapolis, leaving after 2 years to establish the Benson Animal Clinic with a Kansas State classmate. He also served 18 years as the Veterinary consultant for the Boystown National Research Hospital. He enjoyed reading and gardening and took great pride raising 27 Grand Champion Siamese cats. He is survived by his wife Dolores; sisters Joan Metcalf, Liz Hoffman, Mary Jean Wiggans and brother Don (Reva) Sambol, 5 children Tony (Jeanne), Dave (Liz), Martha Resseguie (Mark), Laura Malpert (Rod), and Steve, 14 grandchildren: Jeremy (Allison) Sambol, Joshua Sambol, Janelle (Ryan) Nissen, Anna and Molly Sambol, Elsie and Michael Sambol, Mitchel and Rachel Sauvageau, Graham, Tanner, and Chase Resseguie, Audrey and Adele Malpert. 3 great grandchildren: Lauren and Emelyn Sambol and Pierce Sauvageau. Preceded in death by parents Martin & Mary Sambol and sister Rita Gordon.
