Died in Custer, SD on March 18, 2015. Survived by nephews, Richard Schuning, and David Schuning; niece Shirley Rainwater; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Survived by children, Joan (Ives) Nelson, Duane V, Jr. (Nan) and Barbara A. (Anderson) Carpenter; grandchildren, Kathy Jahns (Mark), Janet Diggins (Ralph), Bob Nelson (Jenny) and Scott Nelson (Buffie); 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister, Jeannette Taylor of Lincoln and numerous other relatives and friends.
