Janice Joann (Nemitz) Hughes

Janice Joann (Nemitz) Hughes was born on April 29, 1939 to Walter and Alma Nemitz in Denison Iowa. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Janice attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Graduated from Omaha North High School. Janice and Pete Davis raised their children in Omaha and in 1981 moved to Dallas Texas.

In 1994 Janice pursued a career in nursing. She attended and Graduated Iowa Methodist Nursing School. After Graduation Janice moved to Sun City West Arizona where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Janice was very active in her church and Bible Studies.

Janice met and married Jerry Hughes where they happily resided in Sun City, Arizona until her death.

The Lord called Janice to receive her Crown of Life and to her eternal home on November 4, 2018 at the age of 79 years 6 months and 6 days. She is preceded in death by her Parents Walter and Alma Nemitz, Brothers Leonard Nemitz,Shirley Nemitz, Sisters, Mildred Nemitz, and Arlene Nelson. She is survived by her Husband Jerry Hughes, children Jeff Bradford (Clark Pomerleau) , Lori Miller, grandchildren Chandler Blaisdell, Cole Bradford, Sisters, Marcella Heye, Verdonna Crombie,Sharon Nemitz,Dorothy Riley,Margie Nemitz, Brother, Vern Nemitz, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

 

Visitation Thursday 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service Friday (11/16/18) 10:00 AM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street Omaha, NE. Janice will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery on November 16, 2018. Our family looks forward to the day when we will reunited with each other and our Lord Jesus Christ.

2/7/1946 – 11/9/2018
Gretna – Loving husband and father. Army Veteran 1966 – 1968 serving in Korea. Retired employee of Rosen-Novak, Huber Chevrolet and Classic Cadillac. Preceded in death by parents Walter H. and Minnie (Bader) Williams. Survived by wife Doris (Kelley), daughters Sheila Williams, Shari (Ernest) Ross, grandchildren Miranda Ross, Caden Ross, brothers Richard L. (Laura), Wayne (Carol), brothers in law Dwayne Kelley, Charles Kelley, sisters in law Mary (Earl) Zeigler, Marjorie (Del) Zuern and Edna McCool, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane Harris Jorgenson

8/20/1926 – 10/31/2018

Jane died peacefully with her daughter holding her hand after a brief illness.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard Jorgenson, daughter-in-law, Heather Norvig, parents Paul and Susan Harris and siblings Vivian Harris, Donald Harris and Elizabeth Anderson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and John Norvig of Omaha, two grandsons, Ben Norvig of Gretna, Justin Norvig of Omaha and her great-granddaughters, Faith, Hope and Grace Norvig of Gretna.

She also is survived by brother-in-law, Morris Anderson of Stillwater, MN, and sister-in-laws Bernice Harris of Holdrege, NE and Betty Nelson of Helena, GA as well as nieces, nephews and good friends.

Jane was born in Fairview, OK, grew up in Axtell, NE  and graduated from Kearney State Teacher’s College.  Jane met her husband Willard in Fremont where they lived for 26 years. Jane taught high school English and was a drama coach until she chose to stay home and be a full-time homemaker.  Jane liked to read, garden, listen to classical music, draw house plans for fun and adored children, always had an abundant supply of “Tic-Tacs” for them. She especially delighted in spending time with her family whom she dearly loved.  She and her family were very involved with the Alliance Church in Fremont.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by short memorial service and dessert reception on Friday, Nov 9, 2018 at The Lighthouse (17600 Arbor St).  Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.

A very sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Lighthouse and to St. Croix Hospice.
