6/24/1931 – 10/29/2018

Chuck Nilius went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Westwood Heights Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St., Omaha, Nebraska.

Chuck was born in Chicago, Illinois; but the family soon moved to Villisca, Iowa, and then finally to Omaha, Nebraska, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Irvington High School and received a Bible degree from Omaha Bible Institute (Faith Baptist Bible College). He went on to serve on the Board of Directors at Faith Baptist Bible College for 30 years.

He met Phyllis at a church group outing, and they were soon married on June 15, 1951.

Chuck owned and operated Nilius Builders, Inc. He built and remodeled numerous homes for people all over the greater Omaha area, many times building the “next” home for repeat customers.

Chuck and Phyllis had four boys, Charles III (Skip), Larry, Tim, and Jeff.

Chuck made it a priority to travel with his family even as the “kids” got older and had their own families. Every other year they would all take a trip together, usually to Estes Park, Colorado, spending time enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.

Chuck was also an avid Husker football fan. He purchased season tickets with a family friend in 1962, and the family has the same tickets and seats to this day. Go, Big Red!!

Chuck will be missed by his wife Phyllis of 67 years, children Skip (Kathy), Larry (Cindy), Tim (Twila), and Jeff (Sandy); 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.

Chuck loved his Lord and dedicated his life to serving Christ at home and in his business. Memorials can be sent to Omaha Christian Academy and Faith Baptist Bible College. Condolences may be expressed at www.roedermortuary.com.

Ruth York

Ruth was the youngest of three children, born to Jesse and Ruth McGee, Sr,
September 5, 1932, in Omaha, NE.

Ruth was the last surviving member of the immediate family.
Father: Jesse McGee Sr.  July 7, 1902—June 25, 1969 (aged 67)
Mother: Ruth Woods  July 18, 1907—Feb 28, 2016 (aged 109–110)
Brothers: Warren A. McGee Feb 20, 1926— Nov 19, 1989 (aged 62—63)
Jesse McGee Jr.  Feb 20, 1931—Jul 4, 1964   (aged 33)

Ruth gave birth to Darryl 1954, married Wilbert York in 1961, and gave birth to Leah 1966. Ruth lived 86 years in Omaha, growing up in North Omaha. She graduated from Central High School.  She received a Diploma from Dickinson Secretarial School for key punch in 1958 and worked at OPPD as a key punch operator. Ruth left OPPD and went to work for John Deere until they moved to Chicago, Il.  She worked at Baker’s as a cashier for a couple of years and then ended her working career as a Paraprofessional with O.P.S.

Ruth McGee-York passed away Tuesday October 23, 2018. Survived by children Darryl York and Leah York. Preceded in death by husband Wilbert Earl.

Visitation of the family will be Friday & Saturday at the York’s home 4039 Mary St. 68112. Funeral Service Monday 1:00 PM at New Life Presbyterian Church 4060 Pratt St. Interment Graceland Park Cemetery.

John Lee Wright

Johnny (John) Lee Wright was born in Omaha Nebraska to Lovely Wright and BT Wright on December 15, 1953. He graduated from Central High in 1972 and married Sandra L Mickles (Wright) on September 21, 1974, a total of 44 years.

John loved music and was a great musician who played the bass guitar, the piano and other instruments. Throughout the early 70’s and 80s he played in a band that performed at several venues around Omaha with his good friend, Nathan Archibald and others. He loved the time he spent with the band and continued to use music as a vehicle to touch people all over the world. As an entrepreneur, he founded the YRBN internet radio station that plays lectures and songs of praise and worship, and where he hosted a daily talk show lecturing and interviewing religious leaders from around the country. Over the years the station accumulated a large database of lectures covering all topics in Hebrew studies reaching a worldwide audience and active internet community. John had a spiritual side to him, and an inherent ability to listen, to absorb and to offer a point of view based on quiet, measured wisdom. He was caring, and he loved his family. A soul that brought joy and fulfilment to many, and whose legacy will live on forever.

Johnny Lee Wright was preceded in death by mother, Lovely (Smith) Wright (maiden-Williams)- from Statesboro Georgia-Omaha NE. Father (BT Wright -Booker Thomas) Claxton Georgia-Omaha NE. Other siblings preceded in death are, Patricia Ann Wright (sister), Woodrow W. Smith Jr. (Brother), Bernard Smith (Brother), Ronald Wright (Ronnie) (Brother) Bonnie Jean Smith (West) (sister)

John leaves behind his Wife (Sandra L Wright) children Kennan Wright (Washington DC) and Keturah G Wright-(Omaha NE) 11 Grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, Brothers: Rudy Smith (Allana wife) Omaha NE, Ricky Vaughn Wright (Denver CO) and sister-Arnita Carol (Smith) Bryant (Herman-husband) (Omaha NE), and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-brothers in-law, and cousins.

John will be missed by us all.
