Benjamin L. Meyer

Benjamin Lyle Meyer was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 18, 1987 to Timothy Lane Meyer and Shauna Jayne (Meyer) Trieb. He was quickly joined by his brother, Jacob Robert Meyer, 14 months later.

Ben’s childhood was filled with time spent with his family, on his father’s side in Ruskin, and his mother’s side in Auburn and Big Lake, Missouri. Ben and his brother and cousins loved being in the water, intertubing, and playing board and card games.

Ben loved sports and music from a young age. Growing up, he played basketball, baseball, football, and soccer, joining many select teams and competing in everything from local tournaments to youth baseball world championships. He played the drums in middle school. He continued to play football, basketball and baseball at Westside High School, and graduated in 2005.

He was a Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox Business Scholar where he received a BBA in Finance in May 2009 and a Master of Science in Accounting in May 2011. Following the completion of his Master’s degree, he moved to Washington D.C. where he worked as an accountant at the Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity firms.

Ben moved to Los Angeles in May, 2013, where he became the CFO of Transcend, a drug addiction rehabilitation center. After leaving Transcend, he co-founded Pelorus Health, a health technology company focused on helping former addicts maintain their sobriety. He lived in LA until June of 2018, when he took a job at GoPro in San Francisco as a financial analyst.

Ben’s life was filled with love, adventure, and passion. His generous spirit touched the hearts of so many. He is survived by father Tim, mother Shauna, stepfather Mark, grandparents Joanne, Peggy, and Edwin, brother Jake, stepsisters Erin and Emily, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial Service 11:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Gretna United Methodist Church 11457 S. 204th Street Gretna, Nebraska 68028.

Omaha – Preceded in death by daughters Karen Oetter, Georgene Prusha, grandson Nathan. Survived by wife Marion, daughters Sheila (Steve) Jensen, Mary Oetter, son in law Richard Prusha, grandchildren Scott (Amy), Angie, Laurie, Chrissy, great granddaughters Adyson, Rylee, family and friends. The Lord has blessed George and his family with joys, sorrows, and a abundance of laughter and love. God bless!

Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me”

Gary Bohannon Sr. was called home to be with the lord on October 11, 2018. He was born January 22, 1959 in Omaha, Nebraska.  Gary is preceded in death by his parents; William and Opheila Bohannon, Clifford Jones Sr. and brother; Billy Bohannon. He is survived by his five children Royalle McArthur (Bri Anna), Brandon Byrd (Chaitra), Whitney Byrd, Gary Bohannon Jr, Aaron Bohannon (Parishae), and his ex-wife Marilyn Bohannon. Gary is also survived by his 6 brothers and 2 sisters; Andre Bohannon, Rene Bohannon (Rhonda) , Bernie Bohannon , Cornell Bohannon (Madeline), Dennis Bohannon (Delissa) ,Clifford Jones, Jeanette Cast(James) , Lillian Bohannon and 15 grandchildren and an abundance of extended family and friends . Gary Bohannon graduated from North High in 1976. He went on to serve in the Marines on May 1, 1978 receiving several honors and a rifle marksman badge. Gary Bohannon then went on to have over 20 years in customer service. He was a member of Union Memorial Methodist Church South and attending Hope of Glory Ministries. Gary Bohannon was a loving father, a loving son, a loving brother and a loving friend.  He will truly be missed in every way. Memorial Services will be held at Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave Omaha, Nebraska on October 20, 2018 at 10:00am.
