Darleen Kay Tonack was born December 3, 1941 to August (Buster) and Margaretha Hadan. She was raised on the homesteaded family farm between Irvington and Bennington. She helped her family on the farm with the livestock and showed animals in 4H.
She met the love of her life Fred at the age of fifteen and they were married four years later. She was blessed with four children: Dean Tonack, Veronica (Roni) Tonack, Debra Schneider and Vance and (Shana) Tonack; Eight Grandchildren: Jeremey Poston, Jacob and (Angie) Schneider, Caleb Schneider, Shelby and (Lucas Leinen) Schneider, Maggi Tonack, Elisabeth Tonack, Jersey Tonack and Kinsley Tonack; Four Great-Grandchildren: Joshua Poston, Laci Poston, Leo Poston and Kamron Tonack; Brother Larry and (Suzi) Hadan; Sister-in-law Pat and (Ron (Smitty)) Smith; Many Relatives and Great Friends. Spending time with family was her top priority.
Darleen’s first job was selling tickets at Sunset Speedway, her father and uncle built and opened, in 1957. Darleen began working at Blue Cross Blue Shield when she was eighteen and worked there until she retired as a director of Benefits.
She enjoyed riding horses and being a Board Member for the Douglas County Farm Bureau.
During her retirement, she played bridge several days a week and making jewelry.
Darleen spent her final days on the family farm and went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2018
