Schmit, Jeffrey J. Nov 22, 1966 – May 26, 2018 Papillion, NE. 22 1/2 years at Cargill Corn Mill in Blair.

Passed away at home after an 8 month journey with thymic carcinoma, which he faced with strength and courage, with his wife of 31 years Amy by his side.

Jeff was very proud to have served in the Marine Corps Reserves.  He was an avid fisherman, making a trek to Canada every June for many years. This was his much loved fishing trip! Canada was his most special place on earth.  He enjoyed trapshooting, movies, and also took up cycling a year before cancer stopped him.

He and his wife, Amy, discovered a love for cruising, going to Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean.

Jeff spent 2 months in India a couple of years ago for his job, which was a memorable experience in itself.  People were often drawn to his amazing smile and kindness.

Jeff loved his family, friends and his coworkers.  He was so proud of his son, Kyle, and especially treasured their time together over the past 2 months.
