    Corrine and all,
What wonderful memories I have of both your father and mother. I do believe that Oddie is making that journey to that great campground in the sky and that Larry has the campfire going and is awaiting her arrival. Both of them really did enjoy going camping every chance they could get. Thanks for the fond memories! Jeannie and I had a wonderful visit with Oddie when up in Omaha a few years back. We both send you our deepest sympathies!

    Barb, Les, and Family,

I am so sorry about the loss of your Mother (Mother-in-law). May God be with all of you at this most difficult time. She will always live in your hearts and in your many fond memories of her. I know that she was truly a remarkable woman and Mother. My own Mother will have been gone seven years this weekend and I love and miss both of my parents each and every day.
    Take care and God Bless.
In Christian Love and Deepest Sympathy.

The joke always goes “We walked to school everyday in 3 ft of snow up hill both ways”. My Grandmas story sounds a little like this and I wouldn’t have believed it unless I got to see some of it. In her years she cared for 65 foster kids, what that doesn’t tell you was that her house was only about 900 sq ft. It had the tiniest bathroom and kitchen I think I’ve seen to date with a table in it. As I think back I remember at least 6 people sitting at that table at a time and usually a high chair, more when it was lunch time with mostly kids. If something was forgotten at mealtime 2 people would have to get up from the table and leave the kitchen to get in the fridge and get it out.
She gave years of dedicated service to her church, boy-scouts, girl-scouts, neighbor kids, grandkids. She cleaned the house and made breakfast and supper for her husband almost every morning and evening of their married life. She did all this with out knowing how to drive a car until Grandpa died. Then she learned at almost 70 yrs old how to drive.
She still managed to tend a garden and numerous flower beds, buy the groceries, pack the camper for regular camping trips all the kids got to enjoy! After writing this down I’m exhausted and I have to go take a nap.

Those are very accurate and blissful memories cousin..I remember all the days including the johnson’s from down the street and how even though grandma’s house was small she still had room for us kids foster and natural alike to take naps on her little living room floor..we would watch Nickelodeon and Nashville’s grand ok opry…I will forever miss those days.

Oddie was truly one of a kind. I am honored to have known her these past 15 years. We had some great conversations, fun at birthday parties, and she gave great advice too. Thank you Oddie, for being my 5th grandparent, I knew I was always welcome in your house!
