Patricia “Pat” Te Kolste graduated with Honors from UNL in 1944 with a Bachelors Degree.  Her major was Primary Education with a minor in English.  It was at UNL where Pat and Dale first met. They were married for 70 years.

Her record of altruism and service has been life long. Since 1974, Pat has been of service to the Nebraska Methodist Health System—first with the volunteers at Methodist Hospital. She then served as President in 1976 and received the Lifetime Volunteers Award in 1990. She served on the Executive Board of the volunteers and Board of Trustees of Nebraska Methodist Hospital from 1977 to 1984 and continued to be an Advisory Board member of Nebraska Methodist Hospital for a number of years.

Pat held an interest in Nebraska Methodist College since the mid 1970’s when volunteers were needed to support students. She became a member of the Nebraska Methodist College Board of Directors in 1987, and received the 1993 Nebraska Methodist College Vision Award for her dedication and hard work.

Other past memberships and leadership positions include:

Chairman of Hospital Ball Committee

Chairman of Medical Staff Committee

President, National Society of New England Women—Omaha Colony

Secretary of the Administrative Board of St. Paul United Methodist Church

Camp Fire Co-Leader

Member of PEO Sisterhood

Member of United Federation of Doll Clubs

Member of Alpha Phi Sorority

Member of Benson High School Hall of Fame, 1984

Board Member of Planned Parenthood

When Pat wasn’t being of service in the community, she was a dedicated mom and grandmother.  Her family thinks of her as a woman with a presence of grace. She was always kind to everyone who took care of her, especially in the last few years when many caretakers came to help her.  Never allowing her physical challenges to control her life,  she maintained her inner strength, faith, and love until the very end.  She will be missed by many.
