Pauline (Cannon) Cribbs

Pauline was born to the late Charles and Porrine (Davis) Cannon on August 9, 1956 in Noxapater, MS. She would be the fourth of eleven children.

She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Mississippi.

Graduating from Tech High in 1974, Pauline would go on to a career in the Healthcare Field and would later retire as a Paraprofessional for the OPS District.

Pauline, known to many as “PJ”, was a strong willed, independent woman who had a great love for her family. She was always the “Go To Person” in any time of need. She would do anything for you except give you a ride, simply because she didn’t drive, but she would have called you a Jitney J. Aunt Pa was known for her cooking; and would cook the best Upside Down Pineapple Cake, 7up Pound Cake, Chocolate on Chocolate (just ask Joe’s boys), and the list goes on and on. Pa loved cooking for her family, it was just another way of showing her unconditional love.

Pauline was blessed to have a large family, and while having no kids of her own, she has five Godchildren: TaKeshia, Mikey, Jhaz’Lynn (Sissy), Adonis, and Ace. She also sheltered her favorite nieces, nephews, and siblings as if they were her own. We will forever be grateful for the love and care she showered upon us throughout her life.

Pauline was called home on Saturday, November 21, 2015. She is preceded in death by her Parents, and dear friend: Sam Turner. She is survived by Brothers: Ray (Rose), Tony (Desiree), Jimmie (Shan), Joseph (Rosetta), Roosevelt (Stephanie), Thomas (Aretha), Robert (Tanika), and Maurice Cannon; Sisters: Mary (Michael) Wilson, and Karen (Chuck) Barry; Husband: Lawrence Cribbs; Special Friends: Shelia, June, and many more along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation – Wednesday (12/2/15) 5pm-7pm with Funeral Service – 10AM Thursday (12/3/15) all at Mortuary. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.

Repast to follow at Mt Nebo Baptist Church
