Phillip Timothy Jennings

12/17/1946 – 10/5/2018

He fought the good fight,
He finished the race,
He kept the faith.

Just after midnight on Friday the 5th of October Phillip Timothy peacefully left our world and returned home. It was just as it should be, surrounded by his family, in his favorite room, in the home he built.

Phillip will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Sandra and his daughter, Michelle & husband Brian Shelbourn, their children Aidan & Conner, his son Christopher and wife Jayne.  Phillip was preceded in death by his grandson, Brady Patrick Shelbourn, his brothers Stanley and Thomas.

Three years ago Phillip was diagnosed with end stage liver disease.  He survived an Aortic Aneurism and a Quadruple Bypass.  Phillip beat the odds over & over again. His fight gave his family time, a blessing that many never get.

It became clear in the last month that Phillip’s time was drawing to an end.  A week before his death he began to decline more rapidly.  Phillip decided to terminate any further medical intervention. We hoped we would share one last holiday but God had other plans.

Phillip was sure of his journey and where he was going and he was happy to be reunited with his grandson Brady, his mother Geri and his mother in law Lovey.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m., at Roeder’s Mortuary, 11710 Standing Stone, Gretna, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow. Memorials can be made to the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands (www.dsamidlands.org/) or the Nebraska Humane Society (nehumanesociety.org)

I’m so very sorry for your loss. It’s comforting to know that we have a Heavenly Father who knows our inner-most struggles to come to terms with our loss. I recently lost a brother, a sister-in-law and most recently a best friend so I can sympathize with your pain. I found a comforting scripture at 2 Corithians 1:3-4 which speaks of Jehovah as the God of all comfort who comforts us in all of our trials. I hope this brings you the same comfort as it has me.
