6/5/1933 – 2/11/2019
Phyllis Nilius went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 11, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Westwood Heights Baptist Church, Omaha. Visitation will be prior to the Service on Friday from 9:00am to 10:30am at the church.
Phyllis was born in Sioux Falls, SD. She lived the first 10 years of her life in Brookings, SD and then moved to Omaha where she remained the rest of her life. She graduated from Tech High School in Omaha.
Phyllis met her husband to be, Chuck Nilius, at a church youth group outing and they were married on June 15,, 1951.
Phyllis worked at home being a housewife and mother and also kept the books for Nilius Builders for over 30 years.
Chuck and Phyllis had four boys, Charles III (Skip), Larry, Tim, and Jeff. They made it a priority to travel with their family even as the “boys” got older and had their own families. Every other year they would all take a trip together, usually to Estes Park, Colorado spending time enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.
Chuck & Phyllis were both avid Husker fans. Both loved football and Phyllis especially loved volleyball. They purchased Football season tickets with a family friend in 1962 and the family still has the same tickets/seats to this day. Go Big Red!!
Phyllis will be missed by her children Skip (Kathy), Larry (Cindy), Tim (Twila), Jeff (Sandy), 11 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren plus one on the way. Phyllis loved her Lord and dedicated her life to serving Christ. Memorials to Omaha Christian Academy and Faith Baptist Bible College. Condolences may be expressed at www.roedermortuary.com

Rest in Peace old friend.
Tim and Twila: Godly Christian moms are a precious gift and sorely missed when they leave the earth. We’re truly sorry for your loss. Continuing to pray for you all in the days ahead, rejoicing that there is a very sure hope that we’ll enjoy God’s face-to-face presence and all His glory with the many loved ones, including your mom, who have gone before us.
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Phyllis. Psalms 34:18 says that God is near to those brokenhearted. Draw close to God and he will grant you peace & comfort during this grievous time.
Chuck – our deepest condolences to you and your family.
