Queen Ester Moore was born on August 31, 1926 to the late Mary Ella and Jimmy Jones in Macon, Mississippi. In May 1945 she married her late husband James Moore Sr. in Macon, Mississippi. Together they had 10 children. In June 1965 they moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she began to work at Booth Memorial Hospital. Later she worked at Immanuel Hospital where she retired from in 1988 as a housekeeper. Queen accepted Christ at a young age and attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, MS., Corinth Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church in Omaha.
Queen was known as Bill to her family. That nickname was given to her early in life by her Uncle. She was always a loving and caring person. When you went to her house you knew you were going to be welcomed and eat good. She never turned anyone down who needed a place to stay. She had a very loving heart and kind spirit.

She leaves to celebrate her life children: James Jr. (Danielle), Mary Hopkins-Kinnard (Edward), Ottis (Brenda), Frank (Lorena), Henry (Doris), Johnny, Juanita, Robert Moore, Willie Moore, and Mary Shields. Sisters; Ruthie Groves, Laura Judkins, Nancy Jones, Annie Allen, and Lucille Florida; daughter in-law Palestine Moore. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband James Sr. son Jerry Wayne Moore, sisters Essie Joiner, Leslie Landrum, Carlean Riley, Rose Buchanan, and Ruth Lee Jones,; brother, Robert Smith; grandsons Otis Lavelle Moore and Timothy Halamek.

Visitation Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary – Ames Chapel 4932 Ames Avenue maha, Nebraska; Service 11:00 AM Friday (1/12/2018) at Morning Star Baptist Church 2019 Burdette Street Omaha, Nebraska, Interment Mount Hope Cemetery Omaha, Nebraska.
