Bob Woolman, a mentor, friend, an inspiration. I met Bob as a teenage member of the 4-H Soil Judging team. I knew nothing, but was quickly indoctrinated into the world of slopes and soil quality. One of his most favorite ways of expressing disapproval for a person was to call them a “sow.” That, combined with his infamous lamb call, are just a few of my fondest memories. The lives Bob touched are countless. His impression on me is indelible. God’s speed my friend, and may you spend eternity in Class 1 Soil.

I was an Extension Educator in Frontier County after Bob. While I have never worked with Bob directly, I always enjoyed visiting with him and talking about Extension program efforts. He had a keen wit.
