Grandma, today I traveled back home. It was heartbreaking to know that I will not be able to call you, visit you, or be in your physical presence. Instantly, my heart crumbled, my tears were uncontrollable, and I became empty. No words can ever express what you meant to me. No one will ever take your place. You truly are what God intended for me. God, I asked that you continue to protect her. I continue to ask that you provide me with her comfort, love, and smile even though she isn’t physically here. I ask that she continue to be happy amongst your grace, that she continues to serve her divine purpose for you, and that she knows that we will be alright. Grandma, I love you and I’ll talk to you again.
